Secondly, anonymity has been many a poster's cloak, and time to time it is extremely useful.

Why don't you give a little more here, and see what friendship might be accomplished?
Brett, you need to go back and read his initial communication. These are emails he sent to me not postings here in AFF. He originally emailed anonymously after reading some things here on AFF. Had he been forthright with who he was in his communcation with me, I would have never shared these. However, as a pastor and leader in many areas for most of my life, I am very familiar with anonymous communcations. Most leaders are. On the forum it is acceptable and expected most of the time. In private communcation, it is unacceptable. I don't communicate that way with others and neither will I communicate that way outside of this forum.

Apparently, he looks down on most posters and postings in this forum from his statements.

I have NEVER betrayed anyone's indentitiy here on AFF or a confidence from a communication in a PM. I am transparent in my communication with others and expect others to do the same.

Ah...

I didn't really get it that he was anonymous with you. I did gather you had at least an idea, even, of where he lived. That is a little strange. It would take me aback as well.

Round #4 is unfolding as we speak. The ball is in OT's court. We'll see how sincere he really is.

Regardless of how this turns out, I will not reveal his identity. The same as I have not revealed the identity of any of you who have contacted me in confidence.

I will keep you all posted as to how this either unfolds or folds up, which ever the case may be.

Bishop Patterson never obeyed the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

His trinitarian doctrine is an attempt at another gospel and there is no other.

Apostolic doctrine (Acts 2:38) is not optional so no alternative should be acceptable.

Hate to bust your bubble, the Bible says to be baptized in Jesus Name to be saved, not have a divine revelation of the Godhead. Who is preaching another gospel now?

OK, here's the final update on dear Oneness Theologian: It appears that his only motive was to throw barbs and criticize. I offered the opportunity more than once for meaningful dialogue and it was ignored. I answered the questions he asked me and I asked what he had to fear from me knowing who he was. He never answered and never did give a reason for remaining anonymous.

Upon further investigation of his emails, I believe it is a former poster on NFCF whose IP has been blocked here on AFF, which is why he can only lurk. At this point, I can't definitively confirm that, but I am conviced that had he continued to email me, that I could have found him. (he's just worth all the hassle and effort) I just personally believe that this person wanted so badly to post here on AFF but couldn't so he emailed me.

I've been around the block long enough to spot knuckleheads like this who are so full of religion that they are actually convinced that they are "truth detectors!" Upon receiving his last response, it was obvious that he could care less about me as a person and cared more about his doctrinal position.

I really have no time for people who want to play games, so I finally blocked his email address. I really thought for a moment that we could have had some meaningful discussion, but it appears that he is too lofty for that.

I guess I really should have taken advice that I have received over the years from seasoned veteran leaders and that is to completely disregard anonymous criticism. Lesson learned........................I think!
