He would have had a better presentation if he went from beginning to the end. It's hard to keep up with what he's talking about...especially if you're not looking at the powerpoint for a second.

Another tactic. Jump all over to confuse the jurors of the context and facts of the case. Lean on emotion and hope the jurors don't catch up to the fact that there are no facts only speculation by the prosecutor. This is what happens when the investigation is "hijacked":

Someone somewhere determined to punish GZ regardless of the facts. Thus in absence of facts the prosecution can only appeal to emotion and speculation.

It is a tragedy to be sure. In more ways than one.

I used to have a friend years ago that, I remember, when he got high on pot got rather violent. Pot does not always make people mellow. It also clouds their reasoning ability like booze does.

It's absurd to argue GZ should have waited until he was almost dead or unconscious before defending himself. By then he would not be able to defend himself with a gun or anything else.

Following is not a legal reason to assault another person.

GZ is innocent by reason of Self Defense under Florida law

Sounds like a bad attorney. If he was my attorney I'd fire him on the spot for that. when your life is on the line you don't have time to be 'nice to the family' of the guy who tried to kill you, especially when that family has been among those demanding you go to prison for defending yourself against their precious baby thug.

I think he was referring to alienating the jury by attacking the victim with their family in the courtroom. Regardless the dead teen is still someone's child. If they could have brought in all the evidence to truly give an accurate picture of Trayvon, sure, but only getting in that he smoked a little pot may look like stretching since its a commonly used illegal drug that have an almost harmless connotation to it. There's, I think, 5 mothers on the jury and its their sensibilities that I think Omara was probably more focused on than the family of the victim.

Correct, J4. He said the amount of marijuana was so minimal that it really likely didn't have an effect on TM, and because of that combined with sensitivities for TM's family -- no need to bring it out and risk alienating the women on the Jury who are mothers and could see it as a ploy to try to get them to look at TM in a negative way, even though it was too small a level to do anything.
