Not much hope for these Leafs

AARON LYNETT/TORONTO STAR

Rock bottom, and with Halloween still three weeks away.
Rather than three stars at the end of the contest – once a beloved feature of NHL games, now shabbily handed over to teams to use as propaganda and generally ignored – the Maple Leafs would have needed 21 of 'em last night before one of their own would have been so honoured.
Okay, maybe 20. Carolina Hurricanes backup goalie John Grahame didn't play.
Not much hope for these Leafs

That's what I thought, but I wondered if any of the pastors who still oppose TV will leave now that TV is officially allowed. In the seventies this would have upset the apple cart in a major way.

A lot has changed since the 70's I'm afraid.

Ain't that the truth. I'm sure that my Pastor, in the seventies, never dreamed a day would come when you would preach against hair dye, and he did, and your preaching would trample on the toes of the "brethren."

I'm not going to reply to the slam against my beloved Maple Leafs. When Lord Stanley's Cup is hoisted above Mats Sundin's head, and he takes a victory lap around the Air Canada Centre, that will be answer enough.

Go Leafs Go!

Now ML I have not heard anyone preach against hair dye ever I think. I know it's in DB's book and the only preaching I have heard that trampled on the toes of brethern have come from sources outside the UPC.

Pastor

I have personally heard your present Superintendent preach against the "dye pot" in a fellowship meeting in the late eighties or early nineties.

Now Pastor,

Surely you've heard a good strong message on the evils of bobbed hair, ear buttons, massacre, and Pistol Smoke.
