What would a Jesus Name Pentecostal have to do to be lost???

Stay on this thread arguing all day instead of out telling the lost about the LOVE OF GOD!!!

I'm not saying I believe this, but the thought occured to me here lately.

I took a death and dying class in college and in one session, we watched three different (and independent from each other) films where folks were interviewed who had died then came back to life, including one who failed at trying hari-kari, one had drowned, one was electrocuted, a couple heart attacks, and other natural causes.

None of them related a hell type experience, nor did they experience the heaven I am sure most of us have pictured in our upper rooms.

The cominality in all their stories was a peace that they had never been experienced on earth. Many said they saw their loved ones from afar but couldn't speak to them.

It was pretty wild actually, I wonder from time to time what they were seeing and really what the abstract is like. The disturbing soliloquy is, "How can all these people be lying and not even knowing what the others said in the other films?

Well, I still believe what I believe and I got a miracle today, so there.

Bro Epley

One thing we agree on (among many things) is what one MUST do to be saved.

I was preaching a few years ago in southern IL

During the message, I asked a few simple questions.......

#1. HOW MANY HERE TONIGHT WANT TO SEE AN APOSTOLIC MOVE OF GOD???
The place exploded with "a-mens" and "come on - preach!"

#2. HOW MANY HERE TONIGHT WANT TO HAVE APOSTOLIC REVIVAL???
More "a-mens" and the tempo continued to rise

I followed this line of questioning for a few minutes until it seemed the entire congregation was pregnant with expectation and desire for a true APOSTOLIC move of the Spirit of God.

An APOSTOLIC manifestation of HIS presence where eyes, ears, legs, minds, are healed... sin filled hearts are cleansed and souls are redeemed.

I then gave them what the Lord had given me.....

GOD HAS NOT CHANGED. (this may come as a shock to some...)

It is HIS desire - HIS will, that we experience the same things in our churches today, as was experienced in the book of Acts.

We CAN...!

The key is..... AN APOSTOLIC ATTITUDE.

Acts 2:37
Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do? KJV

v.40
And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation.

v. 41
Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: .......

v. 42
And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship,

Their attitude was... TELL ME... INSTRUCT ME... WHATEVER IT TAKES.... I WANT TO BE SAVED.

One of the keys to having a true APOSTOLIC church is: People having an APOSTOLIC ATTITUDE. ,,,tell me, man of God, WHAT SHALL WE DO?????

APOSTOLIC ATTITUDE seems to be a rare commodity today.

People want the blessings..... the euphoria, with-out the commitment to holiness ,, INSIDE and OUT.

Unfortunately, the lack of commitment is a prevailing attitude in our world today.

For example....

The pleasures of marriage,,, WITHOUT COMMITMENT....No responsibility... answer to no one.

This same type of attitude...
I want to FEEL GOOD about myself.... FEEL like I'm saved....

But, I don't want a preacher telling me what he thinks I should or should not be doing.

And when an APOSTOLIC man of God DOES tell it like it really is....
He is labeled as judgmental.... his message - legalism.

BTW
If you ever see me about to step off into a deep hole...
If you ever see me about to step in front of a speeding vehicle...
If you ever see me about to swallow something that can destroy me....

I PROMISE......
if you scream at the top of your lungs at me.. in order to spare me terrible tragedy,,, I will NOT call you JUDGMENTAL !

May God help us to become so hungry for the things of Righteousness, and for a true APOSTOLIC church, that we embrace an APOSTOLIC ATTITUDE.

Actually, it's quite easy to follow in Peter's footsteps! Never deviate from it. In doing so you wll save "yourself and them that hear you".

Thank you

Dude if Peter would have said, "stand up. put your right arm in and your right arm in and shake it all about. do the HG pokey and turn yourself around. that's what it's all about." Then that would be what we would tell people to do to become "saved?" C'mon

Look, at that point Peter was anointed by God. But always remember we are the flesh filters of the spirit of God. I am sure you all have messed up in saying something under the anointing. I am not saying Peter lied or misspoke here. What I am saying is he said what came in his mind from God. We do not know the exact verbage of what was said. If you think the Bible is verbatim everything said and done, you might be wrong.

Listen Epley. The question was what would I do. In Acts when they asked Peter what to do in response to the MESSAGE he told them. They did not asked what I need to do to be saved. They already had received the HG but that had to be after they repented. Peter was in essence tell them this, you are forgiven and filled with his spirit. Now what you need to do is be baptized to complete the whole salvation process. Also he told them this so when they went forward "And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers." That is the way to teach from now on. But he never told them that it is salvational. He already told them in Acts 2:21 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Call on Him. He will call you to change......

Epley you are a crazy con. Do not forget the middle ground

JTULLOCK,

And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord. (Acts 22:16)

We call on the name of the Lord through the washing away of our sin through baptism in His holy name. Anyone who cannot see this is willfully blind and refuses to see the truth.
