Not really, although that is a good reason in itself.

This thinking isn't just UPC, my cousin who is independent & is on the liberal side of things got rid of her TV, my wife has employers who neither go to Church or are religious in anyway & they either severely "restrict" TV int hier houses or forgo it all together.

What dumbfounds me is the need to justify or "shove" a use of a medium or to ridicule someone who finds the use of that particular medium "lacking!"

RJ is a great Preacher, Man of God, & an awesome Christian, his thought that he shared was awesome!

I just did not care for the use of the medium, that's all.

Why are you confusing using the medium of television to reach people with promoting owning and watching one?

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

Ron, I couldn't agree with you more - TV has so much trash on it. I don't think anyone is talking about that.

However, there are non-churched people that have TV's and since they don't go to church TV is a way to reach those people. It might be the ONLY contact they have with someone like RJ.

I agree with you on all points, Renda!!! So much on TV is trash, but someone is watching it. If we could do some good without losing ourselves to showmanship, I"m all for it!! Some men I trust and some I do not. I trust RJ to do the right thing!

I don't care for TBN! I seldom, if ever, watch it!

But......it reaches a lot of hungry people all over the world, so I'm so glad that RJ had an opportunity to appear there. I hope that he becomes a regular on the show!

Exactly!

However, there are those that can lose themselves to shownmanship right behind the pulpit. It should always be about God and reaching the lost not ourselves!

Love Rex Johnson and his testimony is an inspiration. His experience will be a huge help to those who have suffered loss. Across the board, we can all take a lesson from his experience. I love RJ and have always had great appreciation for his ministry. I'm not too worried about the vehicle he uses to get his message out. It's there - use it...
