After Crakjak posted that the Judge always asks the defendant that question, I thought I may have over-reacted, but still felt she was well over the line in her response to West and seeming badgering of GZ. After reading some responses online, I wasn't alone.
This Judge should be censured if she can be; or otherwise reprimanded for her conduct. It was unbecoming her role, which is supposed to be as a fair and impartial 3rd party. She has not been, and she most definitely was not yesterday. It was a horrid display she put on, though in a way I'm glad it happened, because anyone watching was able to see what the defense and GZ has been up against. It's been an uphill battle against the defense from the beginning. The Judge put the burden of proof on the defense instead of the state.
I hope never to see this Judge preside over another murder case again.

It would be considered ineffective assistance, from what I am understanding. The legal recourse is appeal, based on 6th Amendment and Due Process.

I thought that I heard Serino mention being pressured to charge.

So the Judge gets off scott free? There should be some kind of penalty for the display she made in the courtroom yesterday.

IIRC it was an off-hand remark that Serino made at the tail end of an answer. But it was never followed up on or questioned further by O'Mara.

Re: George Zimmerman Trial Live Streaming
I was surprised the State didn't present a better case, but I was even more shocked the defense didn't do a better job of pushing the "outside influence" narrative with Serino, Bonaparte, Singleton or Lee. And they didn't question Crump or the Mayor.
The State's case was largely circumstantial; but the Defense's case relied mostly on 9 people coming to the stand to testify "That's Georgie" screaming on the 911 tape. The best Defense testimony was by Root yesterday.

I didn't take it as offhand. If I was on the jury, a red flag would have been raised for me. I would have three columns of notes - negative and positive for GZ, the third being questionable. This red flag would be questionable as to the legitimacy of the case.

Re: George Zimmerman Trial Live Streaming
I tuned in a bit late. Is the recess so that the Judge can rule on the lesser charges of Manslaughter and Aggravated Assault?

Re: George Zimmerman Trial Live Streaming
State has apparently changed requested lessers: Now manslaughter and felony 3rd degree murder.
10-20-Life applies to Third Degree Felony Murder as well. 25 to Life if convicted of Third Degree Felony Murder.

State is just throwing out whatever they can in hopes of getting some kind of a conviction. I agree with the Defense, it should be all or nothing - either 2nd degree murder or nothing. GZ was charged with 2nd degree murder - NOT manslaughter.
