You also have scriptures for blindness.

She has attended a lot of cool conferences! Attending conferences sure trumps living somewhere. LOL
Here is why your choice was dumb
According to the right-wing nutjobs at the Hudson Institute:
Shea works extensively for the advancement of individual religious freedom and other human rights in U.S. foreign policy
However in PRACTICE:
It appears that she is such a great example of a champion of religious tolerance that she is personally and single-handedly responsible for imposition of term limits at U.S. Commission for International Religious Freedom (USCIFR). A wonderful achievement! She got special "Nina Shea" laws passed specifically to prohibit religious discrimination on the U.S. Commission for International Religious Freedom!
Yeah, when I want some data on religious tolerance I want to reference someone who had to have special legislation to prohibit intolerance that was practiced under their leadership.
http://www.rightweb.irc-online.org/profile/Shea_Nina
Nina Shea is a senior fellow at the neoconservative Hudson Institute. A former member of the government-appointed U.S. Commission for International Religious Freedom (USCIFR), Shea directs Hudson's Center for Religious Freedom, which was previously known as the Puebla Institute and housed at Freedom House. Although she focuses broadly on human rights, Shea's work has primarily centered on the persecution of Christians, whom she once claimed were the most persecuted religious group in the world. Observers have accused Shea of having Islamophobic beliefs and criticized her work for often being simplistic and inaccurate.[1] During her tenure at the Commission for International Religious Freedom, which was once led by the Elliott Abrams and has roots in the U.S. evangelical movement,[2] Shea was the target of criticism for her efforts, according to one observer, to wage a "campaign to transform the USCIRF into an outpost of the Hudson Institute, in order to promote her personal Islamophobia as well as the Institute's extremist message of worldwide religious war against Islam."[3] Shea's alleged opposition to hiring Muslim employees—which came to a head when a Muslim employee ousted by Shea filed a civil rights complaint—led to legislative reforms to prohibit discrimination at the commission and impose term limits on its commissioners, which brought Shea's decade-plus tenure there to an end.[4]
Summary: There is zip difference between the Islamophobia that Nina Shea propagates and the anti-christian rhetoric that an extremist hard-liner espouses. Next.

You call my choice dumb, then post a bio of her from the website of an organization connected to the Congressional Progressive Caucus - a who's who of left-wing Democrats, including:
Hank Johnson, who once said, "My fear is that the whole island will become so overly populated that it will tip over and capsize," Johnson said.
Sheila Jackson Lee who, per court documents, said of a staffer she was forcing to work 18 hour days, "I don’t care anything about your disability."
And the muslim Congressman, Keith Ellison.

FINALLY! So you admit that there are no churches outside, in the public spaces, in the cities and towns of SA. They all are in non-descript buildings, hidden away in Embassies or compounds - both of which are free areas where the SA "Committee for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice have no authority.

You (were) given a snapshot that was taken outside of the community center of one. That community center includes a theatre, bowling alley, three restaurants, a huge meeting area, a library, an indoor pool, and some other misc things.

You missed that important point.

But it is in a compound, away from the rule of the SA religious police.

You have, however, answered your own question. By acknowledging that this happens you have acknowledged that there are hundreds of such places where, if the people choose to, it can happen.
|
Yes, in Embassies or behind compound walls -- NOT in a typical SA neighborhood as you dishonestly insinuated. You were dishonest in your claim by not stating the key fact that they can ONLY have services in Embassies or behind compound walls, away from the Saudi general public.

You're right, I could care less what happens in Saudi Arabia. They beat women there. They hang, decapitate, maim and call murder an "honor killing."

You left out the key point and were dishonest in your claim.
There are no church buildings in SA outside the compounds. Any religion other than Islam is banned. Anyone practicing Christianity can be arrested.
The only place of freedom in SA is in an Embassy or behind compound walls.

Re: Happy Birthday, President Reagan
You could have avoided several posts by simply being honest and admitting SA does not allow churches outside of expat compounds. Instead, you were dishonest and falsely insinuated that Christians were free to live their faith anywhere in SA. You even claimed the reason most churches are broken up in SA is because men and women are mixed together in the same building. While that may be part of it, the real reason is because any religion other than Islam is banned and forbidden in the SA public square.

I said that every mixed public gathering of unrelated men and women here is broken up. Ranges from a group of expats to a group of saudi teens.
I know for sure that the reason the group of people in that article were broken up is because they were holding a mixed gathering. Any other reason, they would be deported or still locked up. From my comment on that group you put "all churches" into your imagination.
Whenever you say "you insinuated" replace it with "I imagined" and your post would be bang on accurate. I say or dont say but "insinuate" refers to your interpretitation of what i said. How was I supposed to know how slow you are. I am not used to "corn pone" communication and forget to add the phonics.
Of course people will hold services in their communities. Where else? The communities are everywhere so everywhere they are they can practice their faith. Duh. Bothering Saudi Muslims though is like walking across a Texas lawn at night. They can, do, and will stand their ground. Tolerating you is not the same as welcoming you.

We spend a great deal of time outside those walls lol. Those walls are guarded by Saudi Muslims and those compounds are owned by Saudi companies. Dont leave that part out. Fixed your post. It is now accurate.

Insinuate means you implied or suggested something which isn't true. It has nothing to do with someone's interpretation of what was said.
You knew I was right, yet you continued to falsely imply (and thereby lie) that Christians were free to live their faith among the general public in SA. Even now you continue to try and avoid acknowledging SA's strict ban on Christianity.

Another dishonest statement. Do you ever tell the truth? Or are you always this dishonest? 1) the communities are not "everywhere." They have boundaries which include high concrete walls topped with wire and guard stations complete with heavy machine guns. 2) because there are boundaries to these expat compounds, they may not practice their faith everywhere they are. I understand these compounds are built to cater to whatever they need so they don't have to go outside the compound. But some do, and when they do, they are banned and forbidden from practicing their faith.

Funny, the only part you "fixed" was adding your claim of "hundreds" of compounds and "thousands" of homes.
Riyadh has 11 such compounds. Not sure about the total number in SA, but based on your previous dishonesty, I would bet it's much less than the "hundreds" you claim.

"Implied" things are things that are not actually said. So now what I "imply" lies? LOOOL
You knew I was right, yet you continued to falsely imply (and thereby lie) that Christians were free to live their faith among the general public in SA. Even now you continue to try and avoid acknowledging SA's strict ban on Christianity.
I am going to actually share what I SEE. If I SEE it and share it your imagination of what I "probably mean" does not make it a lie, it makes you look dumb
Another dishonest statement. Do you ever tell the truth? Or are you always this dishonest? 1) the communities are not "everywhere."
See the expat site below then come back to us on that. A little tidbit:
Expats moving to Al-Khobar will find themselves living in what’s thought to be the most attractive of the EP centres, and will likely be provided accommodation in any one of the nearby surrounding expat housing compounds (some with a mere six units and some with hundreds of units). Keep in mind that it’s best to live as close as possible to your place of work, due to the traffic and driving behaviour of the locals.
They have boundaries which include high concrete walls topped with wire and guard stations complete with heavy machine guns. 2) because there are boundaries to these expat compounds, they may not practice their faith everywhere they are. Looks like more than a few are "boundried" by beaches and golf courses but I'm sure your imagination is better than pics huh
|
Go and post what I said and then highlight the untrue part.
There are many, many expat communities in all cities from Jeddah to Dhahran and up to the Kuwaiti border. There are several JUST in Jubail.
Better read up. I don't believe you on those high walls, so I need to see that. Post pics, prove it.
Here's one. No walls
https://search.yahoo.com/search?fr=m...+tanura+images
Here's another one
https://search.yahoo.com/search;_ylt...US714D20140811
Here's one still no walls
https://search.yahoo.com/search;_ylt...US714D20140811
This one is right in the middle of town. Called Dhahran Tower. No walls for sure. Heard there isn't any parking either. Oops.
https://search.yahoo.com/search?fr=m...+towers+images
Here's the inside. Nice. Shame about the parking.
http://www.jobsataramco.eu/residenti.../dhahran-tower
Missing: Machine guns and barbed wire and walls. Conclusion: You've travelled from slow to moron. Make up some more stuff. There is lots more. We haven't even started in Flickr yet where the good stuff is.
Here's a stunner. I actually don't like you. So talk to somebody else about this. Start here. Happy trails.
