Now, Sis., some would say that is a spirit of rebellion and a callous disregard of the clear teaching and commands of Scripture. I do not personally believe that way but some do.
We had a pastor who did not believe in women preachers. One woman with a large family told him she thought she was "called to preach." He told her, "God not only called you to preach, He gave you the congregation."
At one time he mentioned how much the Apostle Paul had suffered --shipwreck, beatings, imprisonment, stoning, etc. but there was one thing he would not suffer-- he would not suffer a woman to teach (
1 Tim 2:12).
In my opinion, all offices or ministries are available to both men and women. I have no problem with women as apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers.
A bishop is supposed to be the husband of one wife and so is a deacon but that did not stop the Apostle Paul from designating Phoebe as a deacon.
