Some people just want to be entertained. Its all about them.
Some people come out of the pre-service prayer room wanting to worship God for who He is and for what He has done.
Some people don't need to depend on their feelings to give God the praise that He is worthy of.
Some people don't need the electric guitars and distortion pedals to worship God.
How in the world did they ever worship God before there was electricity?
The people on the instruments worship God on their instruments; the people not on instruments still worship God without playing on instruments.
Perhaps a song leader just needs to be an example of a worshipper and not someone that needs to pump everyone up and try to motivate them to worship. Perhaps there is something wrong if a song leader needs to keep pumping and motivating a dead congregation time after time.
IMHO, it should be natural for a child of God to worship His maker, if he has a right relationship with his maker.
Now I know and understand that sometimes we come to church tired and some other things can help us to get started, but I don't think that should be the norm; we are not always tired every time we come to church.
The church doesn't need the help of Egypt. The church doesn't need the help of the World. The World is not a friend to the Church. If a church needs the help of Egypt, then there is something seriously wrong with that church.
Its not a matter of a younger generation thinking the older generation is a bunch of fuddy-duddies. The older generation is an example to the younger generation. However, if the older generation has no idea what it is doing and why and/or has compromised, then good luck with your younger generation. If the older generation hasn't figured out how to have revival and how to live for God successfully without compromise, then good luck trying to teach the younger generation how to have revival and to live for God successfully without compromising.
Some people still have a love for the World's music and the way that they do it and they want to bring it into the church. Instead of them doing whatever it takes to get the world out of their heart and the love of the things of the world out of their heart, they would rather bring the world into the church.
A compromised church looses its power and the saints end up living a weak enemic life of continual repentance. What kind of a light is that to a world of 6 billion people on their way to hell? Instead of the church being strong and being able to travaill and give birth to new babies, it doesn't even have the strength to give birth. A weak sick mother if it does give birth, the sick mother with its sick milk brings forth sick babies.
Isa 37:3 And they said unto him, Thus saith Hezekiah, This day is a day of trouble, and of rebuke, and of blasphemy: for the children are come to the birth, and there is not strength to bring forth.
Isa 23:4 Be thou ashamed, O Zidon: for the sea hath spoken, even the strength of the sea, saying, I travail not, nor bring forth children, neither do I nourish up young men, nor bring up virgins.
Isa 66:8 Who hath heard such a thing? who hath seen such things? Shall the earth be made to bring forth in one day? or shall a nation be born at once? for as soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth her children.
