If pastors were appointed as they were in the NT perhaps I'd have less of an issue w/ wives staking such a claim ....
however since we have "corporafied" and democratized the election of pastor ....
the spouse of the pastor, man or woman, has no right to make such a claim ... they do not have no legal standing to do so.
Would we accept an elected President, senator or congress person to share their authority w/ a spouse?

I don't think being a Pastor's wife is the same as being a Pastor.

Didn't Bill Clinton run on that premise, that with him you would get two for the price of one?
And in his latter years when FDR was mentally incapacitated, didn't Eleanor run the country?

Woman don't normally handle men's role very well, IMO. But, I know some women preacher's who also have pastored and they were the BOMB!

I've been doing a lot of fellowshipping this week with pastors and pastors wives and last night as I sat at table and in a restaurant with a number of PWs I was thinking about how beautiful, sweet, interesting, intelligent and gifted many of these women are.
I'm so impressed with the calibre of a large number of the younger PWs here in my home district. By "younger" I'm talking about those in their 30s to mid-40s particularly.
They are definitely an asset to their husbands.

I could see someone earning this title by working hard at home and at church.. but are they just entitled to it by being married to the Pastor?
Does your Pastor's Wife call herself Pastor?

No, it is not an entitlement. The pastor was voted in. The pastor's wife either needs to be appointed as a co-pastor or be simply "the pastor's wife". ON the flip side. The pastor's wife wasn't voted in and so shouldn't be expected to work for free.

Well, what did y'all decide? Can a pastor's wife "share the glory" the title affords her husband? Personally, I'd like to see pastor's wives get more involved with ministering to women. You know, other than running the bake sales and that sort of stuff.

There must be a sense of unity and togetherness but at the same time a certain difference. Does that sound like a paradox? My husband is the pastor of our headquarters church, the bishop of our work yet together with him I stand. We share, we pray, we rejoice, we cry...I am his helper not his head. When a woman wants to be the head of man then she is trying to takes Christ´s place and it will not work. Yet when a woman is given authority by her husband (the pastor) to do something she is covered.
A woman that looks and seeks for names and titles usually doesn´t deserve them! (and the same for a man)
Gifts and callings make room for themselves. No one has to be brazen and loud...some of the ladies tha I know that have done so much for the kingdom have been often not seen but FELT...
Yes, she should be respected as the pastor´s wife. She misses sleep with him taking care of the fold. Honor her as a special woman of God and ou will never be sorry.
I have a very close example in our family of a man who did not honor his wife because of the fellowship he run with...Never but your fellowhip before your family. IT IS NOT worth it...
