Agree with Bernie Sanders or not... he's the only candidate who has held to his convictions. Convictions that haven't changed over the decades. Convictions that were not prewritten for him by some political consultant. He was also found to be considerably more honest than the other leading candidates, even if he was incorrect at times. There's a difference between a man being wrong, and a man (or woman) being a liar.

This past election left us with a billionaire reality television show host who has no personal convictions beyond making money, a career liberal Democrat who has been all over the map in her positions depending on what she hoped would benefit her politically, and a democratic socialist who has stood firm on his convictions for decades and truly believes in them with his whole heart.

Right or wrong in his economics, Bernie was the better man.

When was Trump or Hillary ever arrested for protesting in defense of the rights of others? Frankly, neither Trump nor Hillary cares one bit about anyone but themselves.

Re: Are we to repent for our ancestors past sins?

The truth is that in the Scriptures God has repeatedly spoken of the sins of the fathers when dealing with the current generation of people. And the prophets repeatedly pleaded before God, not only repenting of the current sins of the people, but even the sins of their fathers. And in the NT we see common statements regarding Israel being stiff necked and rebellious, and even having slain the righteous, just like their fathers.

God sees us as individuals, families, nations, and as sons of Adam. No man is just an island. While personal salvation depends upon us as individuals, we are still responsible for righting the wrongs of those who came before us.

The point is... the sins of our ancestors, and their effects, can live on beyond their generations. And we who are redeemed have a responsibility to right the wrongs of our ancestors if they are continuing to cause pain or loss. And if we refuse to do so, when opportunity exists to do so, we are implicated in the sin.

1) No we do not have any responsibility to right the wrongs done by dead ancestors.

2) No we are not implicated in any sin for not doing so.

Also, you just contradicted yourself...

Being "implicated" in sin would affect salvation. But I'm sure you're going to 'splain that away and say it's multifaceted or what have you.

It's amazing all the stories you have which incredibly match the narrative of almost any and every subject posted on AFF.

What can I say? I've lived a full life.

I think most of you have similar stories to tell. But sometimes the framework of your belief systems just don't permit you to consider those things in the same light or context as my belief system allows me to see mine.

It was just an observation. If your belief system doesn't allow for you to see value in confessing, repenting, or apologizing for the sins of your fathers... you will not see the significance of doing so in your own life experiences.

Likewise, other life experiences that I have that relate to my belief system I will embrace and see as aligned with such. While someone without my belief system will not do so with similar experiences in their own lives.

It's actually quite logical.
