The poor in America

For a family in America consisting of a mom a dad a teenage son and a teenage daughter the necessities would include:

a 3 bedroom house (state laws pretty much requires there to be a bedroom per kid when dealing with kids over a certain age).

Other than that they would need water, electricity, a vehicle, food and clothing.

Does this pretty much cover all the necessities?

EDIT: I forgot one necessity: a telephone for emergency services.

Kids don't need their own rooms. They can take the bus, they can go to the river for water. Ok kidding about river.

We are talking about poor people. People that you say can't even afford their necessities. How are such people going to afford a gun???

Well if you want I can replace my listing of phone necessity with gun. Giving them all guns might be a little more expensive though.

I just thought how the Story of the Good Samaritan would sound to our modern ears today. It might be something like: The Story of the Good Radical Imam. That probably accurately grates against our sensitivities to make a sound point about empty clangings of desolate love.

If I came across a guy beat up on the side of the road I would indeed help. Not sure how this would apply to "poor in america" discussion.
