Can I get another, Amen?
Or, maybe a Dungarvon Whooper?
Come on. Somebody run like the rangers are after you!
I tell ya, the devils about as comfortable around here now as an RCMP officer at a midnight moose hunt.

Why is civil war our most familiar form of spiritual warfare?
Why isn't Acts 2:38 enough?

Bro,
You ask some hard questions.
Could the answers be as simple as:
The lust of the eyes
The lust of the flesh
or
The pride of life?
I believe it's probably pretty evenly divided among them.
Well, maybe with an emphasis on the pride.
I am glad You're back,
Nina

Let me try my hand at interpreting,
(So, because all others words shrink before the magnitude of your need, "I'll pray.")
When the salmon are running heavy on a moonlit night, a jigging hook isn't good enough, you need a gill net. Prayer is a gill net.

Talkin' to a big problem is like jacking deer without a light. You're just shooting in the dark. Prayer is a light.

Answers are like fiddleheads. You have to get down on your knees to get 'em.

The problem is so big that flappin' your gums agin it will do about as much good as offerin' a job to a man who has already got his stamps.
or
Fancy words when the world is falling apart are about as much use as a library on the Miramichi.
or
Yappin' at a problem is like trying to loose a log jam with a short handled peavey. What you really need is a few sticks of dynamite. Prayer is dynamite.

Great work Alvin! After your most recent posts I now have a pretty good idea who you are! see you soon!

Alvin definitely has roots in the Miramichi. No one would dare post these things without being able to identify with the place. Of course I'm very sure I know who Alvin is myself.

I've got enough ancestors that have the same last name as your in-laws that I break out in a sweat every time that I see a Winchester 30-30 and a flashlight in the same room.

Strange story alright. I've never heard of the Jehovah's Witnesses and the Southern Baptist's working together before. Only on the Miramichi I guess. Dave Storey doesn't ring a bell - kin to Paul?
I still can't get over a JW - Southern baptist union. What do they believe? Once in the 144,000, always in the 144,000?

I will pray that God will bless this outreach.
I was speaking with a student on the UNB campus who is involved with the University Alpha program, and with a Navigator's Bible study group, but wasn't aware of any UPC type presence on the campus.
I am assuming, with your involvement, that this group has something of a Oneness Pentecostal perspective? Is this group an outreach of NCC?
|
I doubt that this is an outreach from the Bible School unless a lot more than the name has changed there since the sixties and the seventies. In my day standards violations could get you in more trouble than Tuesday night dating.
(There is more action here in the middle of the night than the middle of the day. What's up with that?)

Has anybody else noticed how that some people move off the river, and as soon as they get to the city they start to swell up until their head's way too big for what's in it?
Fredericton is the result of Darwin's natural selection. People who can't make it on the river move there and interbreed until they're not fit for anything but a Government job. A generation or two in the civil service and they reach middle management. Then comes budget cutbacks and flushes them all away.
