Re: Do You Believe In Women Preachers?
BTW being a prophetess doesn't mean one can be an elder/bishop in the church.

The words in 1Timothy 2:11-3:2 for "man” or “men" mean "husband." In fact, the word "husband" in 1Timothy 3:2 is the same Greek word (aner) which is also translated, "men” and “man" in 2:11-15. The subject is NOT regarding women and men, but rather, husbands and wives.

Não permito, porém, que a mulher ensine, nem use de autoridade sobre o marido, mas que esteja em silêncio...(PORTUGUESE)

i am not saying a woman can be a bishop...i am saying she can be a voice god can use...i went out today and had 3 house meetings...one at a home of baptist people, one in the home of assembly of god people, and one in the home of a catholic family...it did not seem to bother them that i was a woman...

not always means husband such as:
John 1:30
30 This is he of whom I said, After me cometh a man which is preferred before me: for he was before me.
KJV

Re: Do You Believe In Women Preachers?
I really was scheduled to preach in one of our churches tonight but have a terrible headache so sent someone in my place...
the sun is so hot here today and I cannot drink water in the village where we are having the meetings it is not real clean and twice in my life have almost died because of drinking bad water. I have to be very careful about water.

In 1Timothy 2:12, Paul says, "I do not allow a woman (wife) to teach...Nor to usurp authority over the man (husband)."

Re: Do You Believe In Women Preachers?
II John 1-3
I take this letter just as it is written to the elect lady and her sister. Probably her name was withheld because of the danger of times in which she lived. Paul uses "elect" in the same way as when he speaks of Rufus "chosen in the Lord ( Romans 16:13, 1 Peter 1:1-2).
She was "elect" in the fact she was chosen of God according to His eternal purpose. It was John that wrote to the elect lady. She was a church overseer. I know of no other reason that he would be writing a woman a letter that would be included with the other letters he wrote to churches, overseers and gospel workers.
The church owes a great deal to the effective public ministry of consecrated women.
