You watch it all and see what you think.

Re: Your thoughts on the Shoe Auction @ Conferenc
When the first bid was yelled, he didn't look or sound surprised. This kind of thing is SOOOO "Out there" that anyone would have been shocked by this process. He didn't stop and ask if it was ok if they proceeded, and didn't ask the owners of the shoes if they sold them. But somehow, they knew that TW Barnes' shoes couldn't be auctioned. So they knew that Pugh's shoes could be sold and Barnes' couldn't? And how did they instantly come up with that?
Plus, he starts grinding on the audience and doing the typical, "Come on people, it's dead in here" thing. And that was at the beginning. If it was dead, and it wasn't planned, it would have stopped right there. The department (which is in financial trouble) had this planned.
No way it was staged. I'm with DAII on this one.

UPCI events = politics and aggressive fundraising, with some good preaching thrown in here and there for good measure.
Is this really a surprise to anyone?

One person to plant the seed thought. Another to work it.

In one sense, no. In another sense? Well, I just flat out didn't believe it at first. If I had been watching the TBN Praise-a-thon, I would have been disgusted but not surprised. But this? I was shocked.
