When I was kid in grammar school, there was a large print of this picture hanging in the fellowship hall of the Beaumont Place Church of God. I had that image of Jesus in my mind for years. Oh, the memories...

Who cares? The republicans around here go on and on so much about their party it's obvious they think their's is the chosen of God to save the babies and stop the homos. Gimme a break already!

Maybe you should since you keep harping over and over that it's not the real Jesus that it could not possibly be him. Some people are offended at what people use as representations of Jesus and then use them in irreverent manners.

I used to know this guy that swore he heard Jesus talk to him often and sees him regularly. When I asked him what he looked like it was that picture

Very true. If we were to see someone spitting on a drawing, figurine, or some other representation of Jesus, most of us would find it highly offensive.
Even though the image would be simply a man-made creation, it is still being used to represent Christ... so naturally people will be offended if it is handled in an irreverent manner.
As an extreme example, who can forget this blasphemous " work of art" ? <--(warning... not for the squeamish!)

TRFrance, this thread proves how much influence the Catholic church really has over Christianity, including apostolics.
