I totallly agree!!

If we would pray first, we could then act with purpose, passion and clear direction!

"The Toronto Maple Leafs are the most popular NHL team in Canada, . . . according to a study released yesterday.

Across the country, 26 per cent of people asked to pick their favourite team chose the Leafs. The Montreal Canadiens followed with 23 per cent."

Is this a regional use of the word?
I have noticed this use on the forum also. It is not used in this manner in the region of the US where I live.

Here's my thoughts as I take my nooning today:

Last night, at prayer meeting, I felt inspired to pray for the Canadian Mission Field, the various ethnic groups within Canada. As I prayed I became frustrated with the realization that we, the Oneness movement, have done little to reach them with the "Jesus Name" message. The Pentecostal Assemblies have run circles around us in evangelizing the people who have the best potential to evangelize the world. The following is from the PAOC web site, and lists their congregations by ethnicity, language, and culture.

Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada Fellowship Data

The Primary Language / Ethnic / Cultural Group Served

Arabic 2

Chinese - Cantonese 12

Chinese - Mandarin 3

Deaf - English 4

Egyptian 1

English 743

English / German 9

Eritrean 1

Estonian 1

Ethiopian 6

Figian 3

Filipino 12

Finnish 7

First Nations 88

French 85

Ghanaian 2

Greek 1

Haitian 2

Hungarian 2

Japanese 2

Korean 19

Malayalam 1

Native Inuit 2

Nigerian English 1

Polish 8

Portuguese 16

Punjabi 1

Romanian 3

Rwanda - Burundi 1

Slavic 19

Spanish 38

Tamil 7

Urdu 2

West Indian 2

Yugoslavian 2

The questions that arise from my frustration with our failure is:

Why isn't Acts 2:38 a large enough banner for the Jesus Name people to gather under and evangelize this nation?

Why does the controversy always seem to eclipse the cause?

Why is civil war our most familiar form of spiritual warfare?

Why isn't Acts 2:38 enough?

A second thought before the whistle blows and it's back to the salt mines for me:

I grew up in the shadow of giants.

Great men of God who cast long shadows.

Men who valued the cause more than the controversy.

Men who knew what they believed, preached it, lived it, and fellowshipped others who differed.

As I said on another thread, we are so deep in the "doo doo" of irrelevant issues the lost are less and less our focus, and believers have a hard time getting past the issues to find their way to Jesus Christ and the cross.

Thank you so much. I am utterly broken, and clinging to the thinnest thread of hope.

My old friend I am sorry to hear about this.
I'll pray for you hang in there.
