Many of our threads in the past ultimately turned into a discussion on STANDARDS, now it seems inevitable that our discussions turn to women preacher threads!
...and for the umpteenth time for the record, women preachers sound like they are nagging. Can't handle em'
women are not to hold authority over men in a leadership position.
Aside from you having no scriptural support for that statement, I'd like to see you tell that to a woman judge, police officer, or manager at the local grocery store.
Deborah had authority over men. Men, even priests, came to her for a word from the Lord. She judged ALL of Israel....ALL included the men too.

Some of these are soooooooooooooo selective in what they want to believe. They heard somebody that heard somebody that heard somebody preach against WOMEN PREACHES - so they get on that bandwagon to please the other nutcases who don't have anything better to preach.
Good gracious - 66 books in the HOLY BIBLE and you guys gotta have a RANT on Women Preachers.
Not long ago, i heard a deaf evangelist. he was great. His wife was his interpreter and she was not so great.
she tried to have preacher voice and it didnt really work well. what he said was awesome and the deaf people there really responded. the hearing people agreed the message was awesome but the wife's delivery would have been better if she had just been real and not tried so hard to do "preacher"

Was she the exception or the Rule ?
was it because there was not a Man ?
Why did Jesus only pick Men?
I believe Women can have authority in the secular world but as far as spiritual headship ?? can you show me an example of a woman pastor or Bishop in the bible ?
Having said that, I do think that the UPC should use more women and have more women preach and speak. and YES! in the general services! NOT just at the ladies day. I have no problem with women in ministry, just not in headship over a church.
H1 there are scriptures that say very clear that there are no women teaching and preaching to men, witnessing is not the authority position of apostle, prophet, evangelist, pastor and teacher. There are female elder roles and they are found in Titus chapter 2. Again there should not be women leadership over men. Are you voting for Hillary?

It isn't worth the keyboard and mouse clicks to try to talk to some people about this topic. Their minds are made up and they will continue to read it as they personally choose to read it.
