What makes me angry about the idea of saying facial hair on a man is sin, is that when you make this statement, you are saying that Jesus of Nazareth was a sinner!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Think about it! It is ludicrous to preach that facial hair on a man is sin!!!!!!

How do we know that Jesus really had facial hair?

Because, Isaiah's prophecy of a suffering Messiah said, that they plucked the hair off of his face and that they spit upon Him.

I'm getting alot of anger and emotion over calling it a sin, and yet I haven't even mentioned sin, just principles to direct behavior.
Maybe something else brewing inside the hearts of those whose hands or on their ears and rocking the shoulders.
Calm down......just read and enjoy...apply if you're so inclined.. if not...by a case of nose hair trimmers and freak-out on the tickles.

Richard, I am not directing this at you or any one individual. I just do not like
the idea of calling anything a sin, that would imply that Jesus was a sinner.

Uncut and Cut Hair!
Isaiah 50:6
I gave my back to the smiters, and my cheeks to them that plucked off the hair: I hid not my face from shame and spitting.
Revelation 1:14
His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire;
1 Corinthians 11:14-16 (King James Version)
14 Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him?
15 But if a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her: for her hair is given her for a covering.
16 But if any man seem to be contentious, we have no such custom, neither the churches of God.
It seems to me that I have heard preached that " Uncut hair is long hair." This is preached especially in the "Black" Church as most women in the "Black" church have short hair as it does not grow like the "white" womens hair. So they are told - if it is UNCUT - that means it is long.
Hence - cut or trimmed hair is the same as a shaved head.
So - where does that leave us men? - if we follow this Greek custom as the Corinthians continue to do to this day - the women cut/trim their hair - but they wear a scarf when they pray. The men for the most part have facial hair. Now they do have a specific culture there where the men are VERY effeminate and they shave twice a day so they can look like women and some of them are male prostitutes.

For the sake of argument and not directed to any of you fine gentlemen. Shaving was not the norm as we know it. They shaved when the could. Jesus beard could have be a weeks or a months and it still could have been plucked.
But, ( theres that big conjunction ) Jesus time was still in the shadow of the law. The commands on personal hygiene and facial presentations came from the Apostle to the gentiles.
So to imply that it would have been stones thrown at Jesus is alarming. Nay, I say NAY.....just talking to us wasps here. (and maybe a spattering of hispanic or african or asian) but the directive was to the corinthians who were both light and dark. needless to say it was to the gentiles.
Don't ignore the value of dedication by self sacriice to obey the principles of humility. Paul said; He chose the weak to confound the strong, the foolish to confound the wise, the base to bring down the ones who have made themselves some high person.....so that no flesh should glory in His presense.
