Lotsa folks would love to be a Christian if the could just see some authentic Christians in their world being Christians.

Jesus said, “I tell you the truth, unless you turn from your sins and become like little children, you will never get into the Kingdom of Heaven."

Again, the focus here is about not getting a chance to enter Heaven...the picture he paints is heaven and missing out on the rewards...it is all a matter of perspective...and I choose to focus on the perspective Jesus paints....the leverage and "take away" concerns heaven.

People are very familiar with what hell feels like...many live in homes of hell and many suffer immensely...what people need is relief....and Jesus offers relief and rewards and gifts in heaven.

I still do not see how one can avoid understanding that one must preach conviction and judgment to the sinner in order to bring about true repentance.

There are certainly occasions that it is appropriate to do so, but I believe if believers are equipped to LIVE authentically Christian it will not be required so much as has become the custom.

My administrative assistant and her husband were RC when she first came to work for us. After several months, on a Monday morning she came in bawling like a baby. I thought someone had died or hubby had left, no she says, "I don't know what you and your wife have, but I know it is God and I want Him so badly". Today, 28 years later, she her husband and their son are still serving the Lord that she found that day.

I just wish we could see that much more often, but I can tell you of several others that came the same way.

Our daily prayer is, "...Lord may we see where you are working today and join you in what you are doing...? "May I hear your voice today and understand what your are saying, that I may be usable in your purpose in my world today?"

Someone came to Jesus with this question: “Teacher, what good deed must I do to have eternal life?”
“Why ask me about what is good?” Jesus replied. “There is only One who is good. But to answer your question—if you want to receive eternal life, keep the commandments.”


It seems like the focus here is on receiving eternal life...he didnt ask, what should I do to avoid hell fire?

Then Jesus explained his meaning: “I tell you the truth, corrupt tax collectors and prostitutes will get into the Kingdom of God before you do. For John the Baptist came and showed you the right way to live, but you didn’t believe him, while tax collectors and prostitutes did. And even when you saw this happening, you refused to believe him and repent of your sins.


Notice that it did not say, "John came to you telling you about hell and you did not believe"

It says John told them about righteous living and they would not believe and repent...it simply is a different approach and perspective....

...oh yeah, here Jesus is again talking about prostitutes entering heaven....the focus keeps being heaven....hmmmmm

Again, the focus is on heaven and the right way to live and produce fruit.
