lol okay
I think if you are going to allow one you almost have to allow the other. It seems an all or nothing stance for me on that. Just in moderation.

Looks like for the most part you all have kept your holiness standards. Newman's article didn't really have an efffect on anyone. Liberals are still liberal and conservatives are still happy.

You mean holiness standards like, "follow peace with all men, put away all bitterness, wrath, backbiting, gossipping, talebearing" and stuff like that, right?
Because most of us have not dropped those. Some of us have dropped some man-made standards, but not holiness standards.

POW! Hold on, Brothaaa! We are talking about in this thread about holiness of dress and look. You can't have one without the other. Backbiting, and gossip are HARDLY frowned upon when we look at Religion. Would you agree Brother?

You most certainly CAN have one without the other, my good friend.
I've encountered many who LOOKED "holy" (and I hesitate to even use that term when describing outward standards, but it's our nomenclature) but were filled with unholiness.
And I have met several people who didn't ascribe to the Apostolic "look" who had more holiness in their big toe than many of the ones who looked "holy"!
That's why I questioned the term "holiness standards".
I'm still waiting for someone to show me ONE scripture where Jesus said that people would know we were His disciples by our outward appearance.
Every instance that Jesus used to describe holiness had to do with how we acted and what was in our hearts.
