Anyone who has ever "cast out devils" has experienced very intelligent evil spirits that are fallen angels. However, there are other spirits that are very stupid, almost retarded. They don't have the same power, intelligence, or motivations as fallen angels. These should be classed differently. The "unclean spirits" are the disembodied spirits of the Nephilim. The very intelligent "devils" we encounter are principalities and powers of the spiritual realm, these are fallen angels.
I think most of us have an acedemic experience with dealing with the supernatural. Others have actual experiential knowledge of the supernatural. When dealing with evil spirits the discerning will notice that there is a serious difference between unclean spirits and fallen angels.
