It's only natural when you are trying to make someone elses theology look silly that subconsciously you will find it confusing or you will convince yourself it is confusing.
Then there are some that just don't have the willingness or the intellect for a deeper intellectual discussion on theology.
They probably don't understand a lot of what Paul had to say
2Pe 3:15 And count the patience of our Lord as salvation, just as our beloved brother Paul also wrote to you according to the wisdom given him,
2Pe 3:16 as he does in all his letters when he speaks in them of these matters. There are some things in them that are hard to understand, which the ignorant and unstable twist to their own destruction, as they do the other Scriptures.

Yes Amen. When a minister speaks in our churches, or someone gives a "word" or "interpretation" most of the church membership will give them the benefit of doubt. If they don't agree entirely or if it at first conflicts with their view they will not immediately rush to judgement. This is generally a good thing I think.
I simply extend this same gratuitous attitude to all call on the name of Jesus and confess forgiveness of sin through the cross. It need not mean we are in agreement on all things, nor that we have no serious divisions. But, it does go a long way toward getting the beam out of my own eye...
... indeed all of us have something less than perfect doctrine I think. That is a humbling position to start an
examination of others from.
