God bless
This is why chapter 1 seems to be an ultra condensed history of the entire Universe, or at least mans time in it. We see day 1 through 7 described, and then we go back to day 6 starting in chapter 2 and going forward. We are STILL living in day 6.

I wouldn't that would be appropriate to ask someone and would also have the potential hijack the thread severely for no apparent reason.

If you want to see my approach to the Creation delima, read the excerpt on our new book below. I think it may answer a few questions regarding the subject. It is chapter 7 entitled Covenant Creation.

Blessings

You just might be surprised at what you find.

Our new book entitled,"The Prophecy of Genesis 1," is under construction but we will issue its chapters as they are completed. It is a huge project and will take some time to complete, therefore we will release the 7th chapter for your perusal. It is entitled,"All things were Created by Him."

Re: How Old is the Earth?

Haven't gone through every post, so pardon me if I've asked something already answered.

What is your opinion of what happened between Genesis 1:1 and Genesis 1:2?

My conculsion is the earth itself could be millions years old, but time as we know it could be approximately 6,000 years.

We don't know how long darkness and chaos filled the earth.

I live about 30 miles from the Creation Museum which is located in northern Kentucky. Their web site is:
http://creationmuseum.org/

They promote what is called "the young earth."

This is a picture (poor quality) from one of their displays.
It seems they promote the idea of a literal man and woman (that we know as Adam and Eve) created by God.

Re: How Old is the Earth?

a thought concerning Adam and Eve.

There is a new church in our area. It is called the Red Door Church. Their web site is http://www.iamreddoor.org/

Here is something from their statement of beliefs about creation:

3. Creation of Humanity We believe that God created human beings, male and female, in his own image. Adam and Eve belonged to the created order that God himself declared to be very good, serving as God’s agents to care for, manage, and govern creation, living in holy and devoted fellowship with their Maker. Men and women, equally made in the image of God, enjoy equal access to God by faith in Christ Jesus and are both called to move beyond passive self-indulgence to significant private and public engagement in family, church, and civic life. Adam and Eve were made to complement each other in a one-flesh union that establishes the only normative pattern of sexual relations for men and women, such that marriage ultimately serves as a type of the union between Christ and his church. In God’s wise purposes, men and women are not simply interchangeable, but rather they complement each other in mutually enriching ways. God ordains that they assume distinctive roles which reflect the loving relationship between Christ and the church, the husband exercising headship in a way that displays the caring, sacrificial love of Christ, and the wife submitting to her husband in a way that models the love of the church for her Lord. In the ministry of the church, both men and women are encouraged to serve Christ and to be developed to their full potential in the manifold ministries of the people of God. The distinctive leadership role within the church given to qualified men is grounded in creation, fall, and redemption and must not be sidelined by appeals to cultural developments

Oh, they are the quintessential followers of a Young Earth/God of the gaps viewpoint.
