Is this Nazi Germany?

Four Christians who were arrested at a large Arab festival in Michigan will have their arraignment hearing on Monday.

Dr. Nabeel Qureshi, a medical doctor, and fellow street preachers Negeen Mayel, Paul Rezkalla, and David Wood were arrested on charges of breach of the peace. Mayel, an 18-year-old woman who emigrated from Afghanistan and who recently converted to Christianity, is also charged with failure to obey police orders. She was videotaping Qureshi’s discussion with Muslims when police seized her camera.

I can understand if maybe they broke some law....but if so why take the camara away? It would be instrumental as evidence for either police or the christians

  4. That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
  5. That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
  6. The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.

Re: Is this Nazi Germany?

Heard them getting interviewed on the radio. The film allegedly shows that they did not even approach anyone. They wore Christian Tshirts and only spoke with those who approached them.

Also they said the teenager arrested only took the film and did not join the discussions. It seems that the police should be issuing apologies, but apparently some people have trouble making them in public.

If you disobey orders from the police, you can be arrested. As to why the seized the camera I don't know. But that is just one side of the story.

Can the Police make arbitrary "orders" that violate basic civil rights?

Of course, they do it sometimes. Why were they there in the first place? Someone must have called them and complained.

They don't need a reason to be where they were at. It's public property from what I understand...that's what I mean by Nazi..this stuff needs to be checked. How come they don't bring sticks out and beat the mess out of Fred Phelps clan for protesting funerals or standing on the street corner shouting "God Hates F@gs"? ...Im not getting it

The police may have even started out trying to "protect" the Christians from the actions or threats coming from the Muslim gathering. The overwhelming majority of the Muslims are immigrants and they are not really acquainted with the notion of having their faith statements challenged and NOT responding with violence. They'll even make stuff up to incite one another and then start the burning and destruction.

Just showing up in the t-shirts and standing a ways off would have provoked much of the gathering to increasing levels of anger and threats of violence. Perhaps it was in sensing this mood that the officers responded as they did.

If this had taken place in the photographer's home country these Christians would probably be dead. The same can be said for most Muslim countries. Dead.

If this had happened in Europe, the Christians would have been pounced upon immediately by the police "for their own protection" and held long enough for the "Muslim Street" to settle down.

Don't look for things like "justice," "free speech" or "fair play" when facing off with the Muslim world. There are some exceptions, but for the most part you'll either end up in police custody "for your own protection" or in the midst of a very nasty and violent outburst.

These people don't "dialog." They attack and kill.

Then they are the ones that need to be arrested. They have used imititation to get their way. People need to call their hand on it here in America. Stop bowing to their threats.

No, I meant why were the police there? But since you bring it up, why were the christians there either? The story is still one sided, Prax.
