I've quit reading some of these posts.

As a Conservative I think the Conservative attitude toward the Federal Government is:

I don't want the Federal Guvmint giving money to anyone but me.

No. I think you have enough money. I think the Federal government should give more money to me!



But seriously, what if they just let folks keep more of their own money?

I can scrounge around and get enough money to get by without a Federal hand out, as long as no one's picking my pocket as I go.

I find that I continue to daydream about life like it was on "Little House on the Prairie"... where everyone has their own little plot of land and supports themselves... and trades with each other when they need things (eggs for milk, etc.). There wasn't a big bloated government to give Laura a new dress just because Nellie's parents could afford one... and when Charles needed seed from the general store, they happily supplied it knowing that he would pay them back when the crops came in... and as far as I know nobody paid taxes and you could simply shoot or hang someone if they stole your horse.
