This is grounds for dismissal.
So has she been officially dismissed yet? As many people as there are looking for jobs, there has to be someone more dependable than her that could fill that position.

Had the "meeting" with her - she BLEW IT!

She said she was meeting informally with someone for all that time and we already knew that person wasn't even HERE!!!! They had taken vacation on Wednesday.

Yes, you are right there are people out there needing jobs!

What's crazy is if she had just said, you know, I over slept and my cell phone was dead so I couldn't call you, but I'm here now. I couldn't have done anything, but NO she had to make up another stupid story. She'll learn maybe some day.

What's really sad is she very defiant - - she said to my boss (and he's a mean looking dude), "well, for the record there are people all over that stand and talk at someone's desk for 30 minutes or more and they talk about it and just laugh that they do it".

And that had WHAT to do with your story - - PLUS....those people are actually talking to people that are HERE ------lol!!!!!

She will be terminated.

Absolutely!

I agree, I've noticed a difference in ethics among younger coworkers.

The amount of creativity and "work" involved in the fax is rather amusing. It would be much easier to tell the truth!!

The problem that never goes away!

I found out today at 11:00 that I had to represent my company at 1:00 at a appeals hearing. The young lady that I had let go in November was denied unemployment benefits and had filed an appeal.

It would have been quite comical had it not been so sad. She's still telling lies. The hearing officer was amazed, I believe, at the length she was going to trying to "defend" herself when she was only digging the hole deeper.

It's been quite a day!
