Re: church in houston is charasmatic

I have to say this thread has bothered me. FIW...

What if those beautiful saints were new converts? What if their hair just hadn't grown out enough to put it up in one of those "pentecostal updos"?

There are a lot of what if's...and it sounds like there was a lot of assuming going on....just sayin'

And let me add....at least he has given these ladies and gentlemen (I'm assuming their hair was too long) an opportunity to worship within their ministry.

Again, too much assuming I think...

  1. There is One God. This one God reveals Himself distinctly as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
  2. The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
  3. Every sinner must repent of their sins.
  4. That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
  5. That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
  6. The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.

Re: church in houston is charasmatic

I just received a phone call saying that the pastor got up and said from the pulpit that he was not going to be preaching some of the things that used to be preach.

I will have to call a friend of mine that goes to that church and see if I can confirm that.

Possibly because he realizes that many of the things he used to preach don't have a biblical basis.
