This is misinformation often put out by anti tv folks (not saying you are doing that Rico but you are repeating it).
You can buy advertisements on your local cable TV systems relatively inexpensively.
Most communities also have community access channels where you can air a non profit TV program / series for free!!!!
What is expensive are national or regional commericals and network airtime for programs.

It costs us $1,000 per week to have a TV program. That includes editing, closed captioning (which is required), and the actual programming. But we are on a huge station that is an ABC affilliate and reaches several states. The results from the progam have definitely been worth it though!

Nope,we never ask for money. Actually there was one little lady that sent us a couple checks, but she did start attending after that. The show is totally supported by our ministry.

The comment was that those people would have never known the church was there which indicates that the church people don't think enough of their church to even tell others. That is what is so sad.
The early church didn't need tv to get the word out. People did it 1-on-1 and were hugely successful.
Why should the UPCI pollute their org with this medium?
We've been very successful without it.
BTW- one-on-one ministry and outreach are still statistically the most effective means of reaching people, not some box.

The early church also did not have gated communities or giant apartment complexes that don't allow soliciting.
It is a goofy arguement to say that they did not use a technological tool 2000 years ago so we should not use it today.
They also did not have cars or buses so should we not bring people to church in them because the early church didnt? Old time Pentecostal logic, or the lack therof amazes me sometimes.

Goofy is an understatement.

I wouldn't consider a few hundred here a few dozen there being successful outreach. When has the upci had a crusade on USA soil that brought 3,000 converts on one single day? What is one person's idea of success is another person's definition of mediocrity.

Using your logic. The early church didn't need the KJV to get the Word of God. So you should outlaw your Bible.

If you took the time for due diligence, you would realize television is a PART of outreach. Franklin Graham has a phenominal outreach system. Graham does more than television projects for outeach. He does many humanitarian things which he is able to show the Love of God in action. TD Jakes has an outreach program. Joel Osteen has an outreach program. I've been by Rod Parsley church dozens of times. He has a fleet of buses. Each week his congregation buses numerous people to church. Trying to separate television outreach from the outreach program is not the best way to convince people of your opinion. You are redefining the parameters and given false datea to support your claim.
The Box can be a part of outreach.

That's because word of mouth was the main way of disseminating information during that time in history. Now the main way of getting news and information to people is through mediums like tv, radio, internet, and word of mouth. Why should the church be limited in what it can use to reach people with the good news?
