Yes, it is strange to a lot of people. Most people in fact.
I wonder what sort of reception Joel Osteen would receive there? Theologically he's a lot closer than Focus on the Family's Hart and a whole, whole lot closer than Jindal.
These same guys who sneer at other Christians and say mean spirited things go ga-ga whenever the herd happens to be moving that way.
Don't get me wrong. I say "kudos" to Anthony Mangun for line up. I'm just puzzled by the behavior of many of the sycophants in the audience.

You mean some who might disfellowship a brother over standards, but welcome a Catholic politician into their midst with enthusiasm?

Exactly.
I guess I'm kind of cynical too because of the threads I've read at another unnamed forum regarding BOTT. There, they were so giddy about seeing each other that there was open jesting about "getting a motel room together" and "hugging below the waist."
And then I was threatened with a ban for stating in another thread that there was no historic evidence for "Acts 2:38 Three Step" believers for about 1,700 years of the Church Age.
Joking about being "gay" and posting cropped photographs that made it appear that "something" was going on between preachers is "okay" but just don't state the obvious when it comes to historical records.
