Well.. I did it. I just had local, and I was ok... a little apprehensive but I was good and numb. I will say that it was weird to hear the slicing, taste the blood and then the drilling, screwing... yeah, different being awake and knowing what was happening...but I am cheap and saved myself $500.

The local started wearing off as he was stitching me up...oh...what a headache it was....and I told him I wish I had known, cause I would have taken the vicodine before the procedure. I was pretty uncomfortable for the next 5 hours until the pain meds kicked in..and I took advil too... that and vicodine together seemed to work well. I have a mouth full of stitches and a swollen face in front so that I look like Grinch... other than that... I feel ok...i just keep taking meds..

I can't believe you got your teeth that fast Rhoni... they said it would be 3 months. I can't wear the flipper right now cause of the swelling and stitches, so I am a toothless ol' lady...lol I won't be facing public untll the flipper can be worn.

I have heard it will be a perfect tooth....for that I am happy.

thanks everyone for sharing with me your experience... I'm headed back to my bed to watch movies. Be blessed.

Lisa,

Glad you are doing so well. I had progressive top of the line expensive costmetic denistry in Florida. The dentists here can't believe how good they look. I am going to get veneers for the top 6 teeth because they are dull compared to the rest of my dental work due to natural aging process.

You'll love them when they are finished

Blessings, Rhonda

Re: Tooth implants

Glad to hear all went well Lisa.

I well understand the high cost of dental care. I have a molar that had a crown. Later ( a few yrs) it started giving me pain so I went to another dentist (remember I've lived in different cities and states). He did a root canal through the crown, since I didn't want to pay for another crown.

Later, more pain and I ended up with another root canal/crown.

That tooth alone would send someone to college.

I always say my kids' inheritance is in my mouth.

I'm surprised my girls haven't taken pictures yet... I was woke out of a dead sleep earlier to show my stitches and gaping hole to Bekah's friends.
