Yeshua said the only way you could know who the Father is comes by the revelation of the Son.

16: And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory. 1 Tim. 3:16

The word mystery in Greek means "hidden truth". If its hidden then it takes revelation to understand.

I think when many first see it they DO get excited about it. As years go by they begin to get a "ho hum" attitude about it.

AMEN AMEN, I got the 'revelation' myself, I think it is necessary for an
individual to know without a shadow of doubt, the things that He alone
can provide., all the book learning, the witness of people, countless sermons, etc. can mean only so much UNTIL that "Damascus" moment, as Paul experienced, it hits ya like a ton of bricks!

Yeah I often wonder about those whom learn it this way., there must be
little 'excitement'. *shrug* maybe more of a, {as someone so succintly descrubed it, "ho-hum" attitude.
I know that in over the last 12yrs since I got the "revelation" I have NEVER
ever felt "ho-hum" about it, it remains 'fresh' as ever., nothing in this world
can ever compare to it!!

FREEDOM, Yeah!!

Freedom? Interesting. Why is it so exciting? Would you be that excited about there being three Gods, if there were three Gods?

SM, those who are raised in this don't have to be ho-hum. God has delivered them from just as much as He did any of us, and they get the revelation same as anyone. Most of the ho-hum comes from either taking what is there for granted or having to pray through and get over hurts from 'church family'. Every saint reaches a place where they have to seek more of God and reevaluate eventually, if they stick with it long enough. They don't have to lose the excitement, but the devil will give them the opportunity.

Re: Do you have "The Revelation"?

I've heard it both ways.

Dr Nelson teaches it isn't necessary to have a revelation of th eoneness because Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Moses, etc all understood One God without some mystical revelation.

However, I have seen firsthand hOw some people can read and read and never get it, but then one day they are praying or such and suddenly it "clicks" and they understand.

Hehe good post, lol
There is not much 'mystical' about revelation from GOD, perhaps
"supernatural" is a better word, He personally intervenes to make
one understand., as when He opened up the Apostles 'understanding'.
I love it!

I agree. There's also a big difference in the understanding or 'revelation' that comes to someone who was raised in it versus someone who wasn't.

I think this is the reason why so many people raised in it leave later on. Rarely ever will you find someone who got 'into church' as an adult that leaves years later to live a life of sin once again.

I've never had a 'revelation' of God. I was raised this way, therefore, I believe. It's simple to me, and it's difficult for me to understand why people need a 'revelation'.

Then again, those that need that revelation cannot understand why I see it as being so simple to understand. Well, I was raised this way, that's why.
