Many truth loving Apostolics disagree with you ... including Howard Goss ... your first UPCI superintendant.
You know, Daniel, you keep going back to that time and again. I frankly think you utilize that as your key argument because you lack more valid ones.
You're telling me that these 'many truth loving Apostolics' along with 'Howard Goss' think that anybody is saved without any obligation to go on to receive the Holy Ghost or be baptized in Jesus Name? I'm not talking about repentance and being 'saved' right now but an ongoing relationship with truth that says if you live for God any amount of time you WILL need to be baptized and get the Holy Ghost.
My opinion is that you guys put WAY too much stock in your philosophy of what constitutes 'salvation'. 99.9% of the people you claim as 'getting saved' via repentance go on living... and, thus, living under a mandate that if you are going to follow after truth you WILL get baptized and receive the Holy Ghost.
I generally don't even enter into conversations pertaining to the whole theology you espouse. Sorry, but to me it's just a weak argument in that we ALL have a mandate to follow after the truths of scripture... even after we repent.
i doubt there are many truth loving Apostolics that would say a trinitarian, "speaking in tongues is of the devil", once saved always saved baptist preacher is truely born again...
You are exactly right. At least not if they are 'truth loving' because those things are directly opposed to truth... period!
Wow! Great message and delivered with such a spirit of humility. I believe that the UPC / Apostolic church is headed down the same general path as the Baptists. The Baptists have their "prayer" and we have our baptism and tongue talking. But both are seeing the most worldly youth coming up believing they are saved but loving the world and justifying it by comparing themselves with others.
Does anyone know where to obtain a copy of this message or how to download it to the hard drive?
There was a Baptist preacher in Mississippi that was a strong 'holiness' type preacher. Their standards were very high. Some Pentecostals thought they would share the message with them he blasted them to high Heavens. This has been my experience with this type of stuff.

On the subject of the PCI. I grew up in what I have recently found out was a PCI church. It is the church that A.T. Morgan and G. L. Glass Sr. are from.
ON NFCF we had a very in depth discussion about the very real possiblitly that G. L Glass SR (Papa George) was PCI in doctrine as well as PCI in affilitation.
I have personally talked with his son who was at one point also my pastor about this and he does not know if Papa George was PCI in doctrine.
GLGJR is what one would call PCI now.
Back to the story. Papa George was often cornered by strong PAJC men who would ask him if he believed that a person could go to heaven without speaking in tongues.
Papa George ALWAYS responded (and I remember hearing this as a kid) "Brother, I dont know why anyone would WANT to go to heaven without speaking in tongues"
I trace my heritage back to Papa George. He had a very direct impact on my family. he was our famlies pastor, and in retirement was the bishop of our church before we had "bishops".
I am decidedly PAJC in doctrine I suppose because of Papa George's preaching the importance of having the Holy Ghost.
I dont know what he was: "PCI" or "PAJC"
But I do agree with him on point. I dont know why anyone would WANT to go to heaven without the Holy Ghost. I dont even know what anyone would WANT to argue about it.

Ferd the overwhelming majority of PCI men preached Acts 2:38 so fervently outsiders did not know the difference. If you had been a a revival type service and a PCI preacher or a PAJC took turns you would have NEVER detected the difference. NOw if you got into a conversation with them yes you probably would but the preaching was same.

I agree for the most part.
