This is based on Proverbs 16:33 and the urim and thummim (a white and black stone) for "yes" or "no"
Personally, a process like this is preferable to competitive politics in the church. JMO

There's also some danger in nominating an "unknown." A "bishop" is supposed to have a good reputation both within and without.

I personally hope that Kenneth Haney is re-elected. I think he is a good man and that He loves God and wants to see the gospel message spread. I believe he will be re-elected. If he is not, there will just be more posturing and buzz of activity among the political bees of our organization..trying to get in good with the new man in charge, for position, authority, influence..whatever. I'm so sick of it all. Can't we just love God and love others?

Can you imagine if all the saints considered how those who are considered as gifted in roles involving local "oversight" are viewed by those who are WITHOUT [the body of Christ]. WOW, that would change so much of a dynamic where Saints mistakenly apply a general celebrity to those who are to be bondservants and representatives of their Lord and Saviour.
But I guess when viewed in the brightness of OBEDIENCE and FIDELITY to club harmony, even this post could be viewed as sowing discord and squarely in the "Korah Kamp".
It leaves one to ponder if all scripture is for given for inspiration, correction, instruction in righteousness.....AND optional application depending on the circumstance of any given founding fella who is a member minister.
