Eddie collected the leather covered ones years ago, when you could buy them one at a time through Time Warner. He used to read them, but it's been years. My dad has read the whole collection too.
I got the whole collection for christmas this year!
LOVE IT!

I respect your preference, but I have learned a LOT by reading fiction. A lot.
I second that, fiction does'nt mean everything in it is make believe.
Fiction can be and often is a very accurately fact packed book wrapped around a story that is based on a real life situation but the actual plot line and charachters are an imagination of the author.
If you have read the entire Bible, you have read a little bit of fiction..........
Jesus, parables, they were parables, not true stories of actual events.
But yet you certainly learn something from them. Fiction does have it's value.
And of course you learned why you didn't look into the camp fires.

I also like Zane Grey. A lot of those books are classics. Some of my favorite
Zane Grey novels are Nevada, The Lone Star Ranger, Hash Knife Outfit,
The Drift Fence, and West of the Pecos. Great books and great stories.
I don't know if I am going through a mood or what, but I did something last nite I haven't done in awhile, I pulled out an old Louis L'Amour novel and read it in one setting. Brings back good memories, when I evangelised back in the day, that was my form of entertainment between places to preach or services. I think I read at least 50 or more that year.
I told Elizabeth, it connects my soul to a good manly place, boots, leather, guns, horses, beautiful country, a little bit of American History, I love it!
Anyone here like to read, Louis L'Amour?
I think that Chick Bowdrie is one of my favorites characters.

I began reading them when I was in about 5th grade. My grandfather read them and would always give me several when I came to visit. Over the years I believe I have read them all. My absolute favorite one is The Walking Drum. Another favorite is Last of the Breed.
