Talked to my mom this evening and they are moving him out of ICU tomorrow. He's still being fed with a feeding tube, but they hope to take that out tomorrow as well, if he passes the swallowing test. Physical therapy is also working with him to get him walking.
He's also not able to talk very well still, but did tell the doctor today that he wants out of there NOW! LOL!

The docs removed his feeding tube since he passed his swallow test. But they are suggesting he go to a skilled care facility for a while to get strength. Yesterday, it took 3 people just to get him to stand at the side of the bed.
The problem is, he's on Virginia medicaid, which will only pay for 20 days there.
I have a feeling that it'll take longer, if he's able to go home at all.
But for now, he's still in the hospital but out of ICU. He'll be there at least a couple more days, perhaps til Monday, but it's slow going.
My mom was looking forward to her vacation. Now she's looking forward to going home!
