Re: Gabby's

Morning ya'll!

Just thought I would pop in and say hello. I have been super busy here lately. I start classes today. I'm a bit nervous! Plus my hubby left this morning to go to BOTT and won't be back till LATE Friday night/Saturday morning. I hate it when he is gone.

Hey, QE!!! Praying for you as you start your new classes!!!!! On the bright side, you have the girls, so you aren't totally alone while he is gone.

God bless!

Re: Gabby's

Wow, haven't posted here since January!

Well, I painted and glazed a couple of pillars for our church foyer. My husband routed a piece of pine, stained and put a few coats of poly on it.

I put a light coat of paint on it because I wasn't sure how the glaze would do. Once you put the glaze on, you can't mess with it for very long, so I didn't want to chance it on the ceramic material.

Don't look at my shop!!! - I hardly ever clean it. It just gets dirty again! LOL!

Good job PO, it looks good!
Will the pillars have flowers on them?
Where did you get the pillars?

Thanks, Renda. He does a great job with his woodworking skills. I still have a pine dresser that someone threw away because the drawers were broken. We found some doors to turn it into some type of cabinet. Can't wait to work on that. Not sure it's wide enough for a television, but it might make an excellent cabinet for bath towels or other linens.

Thanks, Ron! Actually, the pillars have been in the foyer for a while, but they really bugged me. I don't like the white ceramic look. It's like you bought it at a garden center and didn't do anything with it. lol I put some gold and chocolate brown window scarfs on the large window we have in the foyer. It pulled it all together.

I did a flower arrangement for it and we have a quest book to sign. I should have taken my camera with me and got a shot of the finished work. If I remember to make sure it's charged, I will do that.

I just got off the phone with my daughter. She is refinishing a chair and wanted to know how much fabric she needed to recover it. Like mother, like daughter!
