Brother, I think that I am just going to let men like CS alone. He e-mailed me with condolences, and I do appreciate such.

Maybe I was wrong in my assumptions about CS, but I know that right now, I am not going to judge no man. Life is way too short and people need way more love than judging can afford.

I read Caston Smith's missive and I had a flashback to the 19 year old girl I was, so totally conflicted by the emphasis on standards and torn between obeying my pastor (who was opposed to me going to college) and my parents (who were furious that their daughter dropped out after making honor roll).

I don't EVER want to go back to those days, when I was so depressed because I realized I couldn't live up to the long list of don'ts that I'd been taught. I literally despaired of life. It was a charismatic lady, Shirley, who was able to talk me "off the ledge" as it were with words of God's grace. I'm still learning those words, nearly three decades later.

The Caston Smiths of the world have no idea what kind of burdens they cast on those who are hardly able to bear them. At this point in time, I won't take a standard on myself unless I'm absolutely convinced that it's God's will for me. In other words, I'm not just taking the pastor's word about hair, clothing, jewelry, TV, etc., etc., etc. I NEVER want to be where I was when I was 19, never again.

What a flashback. For someone who has never taken drugs, that was just as strong as if I'd taken a tab of acid (at least according to the accounts of friends who've told me about their "trips"). Never again.

Sad, that a little group of "holier than thou" folks get together like that on a regular basis to congratulate one another on just how holy they are and to look down their noses on all those "sinners" out there who do not see eye to eye with their narrow minded ways.
Sad, that they take their own (some times ridiculous) personal convictions and judge everyone else's salvation by them.

Just about the whole 23rd chapter of Matthew speaks about an attitude like that and we all can fall into that attitude if we are not careful.

You know, at first Caston Smith made me laugh, then made me angry, then made me laugh again, then finally made me shake my head. I feel sorry for him. I still get the feeling that deep down inside he is a decent guy who would stop to help someone at the side of the road if they needed it -like the Samaritan. Just an assumption.
I hope the Lord fills the need he has inside to "fit in" and will help him channel his energies to doing His work.... not Reckarts.

There are several things tolerated and allowed to go on in various UPCI and independent liberal churches that are totally contrary to Holiness standards.

Some of these are

Wedding bands

Trimmed hair on women

Split tailed skirts-skirts designed with splits in front

Short sleeves

Knee skirts

Low neck lines

Homosexual trends and fashions on young men

Worldly hair styles on young men-messy look, etc.

Long side burns

All sorts of jewelry-broaches on women etc.

Television

Video

Costly array

Make-up-foundation, lip gloss, etc.

Some men growing their hair passed or touching their shirt collars

Women wearing tight skirts

Parents dressing their infants in shorts and little girls in pants, toddler boys in shorts etc.

Now you go into a real Apostolic Church and you will not find these things. If you do then I can assure you that Holiness is lacking and it is not a real Apostolic Church.

I believe in holiness and I believe in standards-this is neither, I believe the word for it is STUPIDITY

-The UPCI has one head known as the General Superintendent.

-The RCC has a body of Bishops and a body of Cardinals.

-The UPCI has a General Board and an Executive Board.

-The RCC has dioceses in each state where men are appointed as Bishops of that dioceses.

- The UPCI has sections where men are appointed as presbyters of that particular section.

So as we can clearly see that there are vast similarities betwixt the RCC and the UPCI in their governing systems.

This is not only in the UPCI but also in

Now Jesus told us to COME OUT from her MY PEOPLE–now I believe that the Apostolic Oneness people are in fact God’s TRUE people.

Not in just doctrine and practices, but COME OUT FROM HER MY PEOPLE!

-Now I am NOT against organized fellowship, however I am opposed to organized religion.

-Jesus Christ is the head of the Church

-There needs not to be any level of ministry considered higher than the other.

-These governing systems were not the practice of the early church, but rather the Great Whore who broke away from us the true Apostolic Church.

So again let me encourage to break away from organized religion wether you’re
