From what I've read they fall into two groups when it comes to the Bible.
Group one would not accept the inspiration of the Bible and would say those were outmoded prejudices based on the ignorance of that time and are not relevant to today. They would point out the prohibitions against women even speaking in church and say that the prejudice against gays is as wrong as prejudice against women. They would say prejudice against gays is the same as prejudice in old times against people who were left handed.
Another group would say, "That's Old Testament and has no bearing on us today." If you were to point out New Testament texts they would say that refers to gay temple prostitutes but does not refer to relationships between two individuals. They would tell you that the Old Testament God was a harsh Judge but the New Testament God is loving and inclusive.
From what little I've read that seems to be where they come from.
