One of our kids had a bit of a problem with certain phonetics. The "s" sound, in particular. Came out like "f". Needless to say, we tried to use the word "lollipop", rather than "sucker", around him!

Very seldom did I hear curse words growing up (being brought up in a Christian home) .... but around my unsaved relatives, I did hear them.... So I was about 5 or 6 and said the D word.... Oh Boy, that did it! My mother came after me with her switch in her hand..... I looked at my father who was laughing sooo hard... So what did I do? I ran to my father and jumped on his lap.... Mama would spank me then! .... I sat there til I knew it was safe! LOL
No, I don't curse... It was never in my home growing up nor is it now!

I have always heard it was speaking like you were "uneducated." I think that is dumb though. I have met some very, wise and educated folks that curse. Maybe it is not proper to do so, but it is not an "uneducated" way of speaking, IMO. Do I curse..rarely. I never use GD or the F-word either. But again it is very rare if I do.

Once my son was with the Sunday School teacher who was also the assistant pastor's wife and they were in a van full of other SS kids and were on a scavenger hunt..... they were trying to beat the other van load to the next destination and an old "gentlemen" was in front of them going really slow....my son let's rip "get out of the way you old f**t"!! And the SS teacher said "oh honey we don't say those things"..... My son responded "My Mom says it all the time"......Bless his little pea pickin' heart!
