Drinkin' My ACV

Well.. I have a sinus headache today so I have a quart jar full of water with 2 tablespoons of ACV (Apple Cider Vinegar) & 2 tablespoons of honey dissolved in it.

Does anyone else use ACV any sort of a regular basis or at least aware of some of the things that ACV can help with?

Re: Drinkin' My ACV

I'm aware but I don't use it at this time

All that stuff seems like another lifetime! I was, not so many years ago, studying to be an herbalist, considering becoming an ND.

Editing to give a little more info...it sounds like I've considered almost everything. lol

I used only natural medicine for my family when I was a stay at home mom. I had time and energy and desire to research and study. I'm fascinated with the whole idea of using natural methods to encourage our bodies to heal. When my ex left me, and the woman who he's married to now moved out too, I separated myself from that part of my life to some degree. As time went on and I started school and working, more slipped away. Now that I've walked away from witchcraft, I've completely cut off my connections with that part of my past, for now at least. A lot of my passion behind studying was tied up in the brand of witchcraft I was studying and practicing. (yep...kind of like denominations...lol) I'm starting to find some equilibrium with this now. I might just get a few books sometime for reference at least.

I wouldn't mind knowing more than I do and moving in that direction.

You would probably do well at it to... the issue would be whether you could pursue a field like that and keep it removed from where you were then.

I would have to assume that it would come as a package deal... which would mean... NOT a good field for you,

You pretty much nailed it.

I'm not sure I could ever separate the two issues completely. They really are so closely tied together, especially for me. But, who knows? God's done some things I figured were completely impossible already.

I'm a firm believer in natural remedies and nutrition as opposed to medication. Eating right and exercise are a good place to start to increase your body's natural immunity. I tend to get sick when I am under stress or eat too much sugar.

Indeed... white sugar & white flour etc... it really takes a body down. The food we take in is either healing us or tearing us down.

I am also a big fan of home remedies versus the pharmaceutical medications.

I was just reading today about apples. WOW... a great food. My mom eats a bowl of oatmeal every day for her heart etc.

An apple has about 5 times the soluble fiber as a bowl of oatmeal. An apple a day they say.

I am going to buy some apples and try to start eating at least one per day and also try to make it a habit for our family to eat an apple about 20-30 minutes before we eat a meal.

The fiber in apples will probably go a long way towards curbing ones hunger.

An apple a day keeps the doctor away”?but why? Do you really know what makes an apple so special? Why is it that we never hear an orange or a banana a day keeps the doctor away?
Apples have properties that no other fruits have and its benefits have been proven overtime. You will be able to get the benefits of these properties individually with other fruits, but an apple combines everything and makes it simpler. It has been shown over and over that if it’s not simple, easy and fast, people won’t take care of their health.

1-Apple contains Vitamin C. Vitamin C helps greatly your immune system. A lot of people who lack Vitamin C in their diet have poor healing, bruise easily and have bleeding gums.

2-Prevent Heart Diseases. The reason it can prevent both coronary heart disease and cardiovascular disease is because apples are rich in flavonoid. Flavonoids are also known for their antioxidant effects.

3-Low in calories. A regular size apple has between 70-100 calories. Eating an apple when craving for candy or chocolate can make the desire disappear since apple in itself contains sugar, but gives you only ? of the calories.

4-Prevent Cancers. Notice the plural. We all know that cancer comes in several forms and in different places. Apples target multiple cancers such as colon cancer, prostate cancer and breast cancer in women.

5-Apples contain phenols, which have a double effect on cholesterol. It reduces bad cholesterol and increases good cholesterol. They prevent LDL cholesterol from turning into oxidized LDL, a very dangerous form of bad cholesterol which can be deadly.

6-Prevent tooth decay. Tooth decay is an infection that seriously damages the structure of your teeth, which is caused primarily because of bacteria. The juice of the apples has properties that can kill up to 80% of bacteria. So there you have it, an apple a day also keeps the dentist away!

7-Protects your brain from brain disease. This is something many people don’t know, and when you consider that your brain makes the person you are, it gives a whole new perspective. Apple has substances called phytonutrients, and these phytonutrients prevents neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s and Parkinsonism.

8-Healthier Lungs. A research at the University of Nottingham Research shows that people who eat 5 apples or more per week has lower respiratory problems, including asthma.

9-They taste great! And not only that, they also come in many flavors and colors. Not in a mood for a green apple? Why not get a red one, or a macintosh! Their taste can vary greatly, but still give you all the apple benefits. Variety is an important element to maintaining your health.

On average, Americans consume around 20 pounds of apples a year, which comes to around 1 apple a week. Unfortunately, while an apple a week is better than nothing, it is nowhere close to being able to extract all the advantages apples have to offer. Eating apples is part of balanced and healthy diet than will increase your longevity, so why limit yourself to only 1 per week?

Digging,
I haven't tried this, but suggested it to someone else who had the flu.

Put three drops of Peroxide in one ear, hold for ten minutes. Do the same in the other ear.

He said he was better the next day.

Interesting... I will have to look into that. There are a lot of benefits to peroxide. It is largely the oxygen contained in it I think.

Another good flu tool to have around is a neti pot... not for everyone though. LOL

But it reaches the cold/flu where it begins.

What I understand is that the infection enters the ear and not the nose as some think.

You can put a little salt on a spoon with warm water and snort that.
