I know that is what you say, but if the sick person has the chance of becoming Schizophrenic, why would you also think it is okay to use the drug for a sickness? Why take a chance on becoming a schizo just to relieve discomfort? I wouldn't want to take that kind of chance if the risk is as high as you say it is. That was the only reason why I asked.

Bro, with all medication, there are inherent risks. the balance is does the benifit of the drug out weigh the possible side effects?

in the case of MJ, in dealing with a very limited group of people, those with sever and debilitating pain, those taking chemo and suffering from an inability to eat (which increases the chance of death by a huge factor) and those who are terminally ill, the benifit far exceeds the risk.
