With sliding boards that were actually tall enough to tell you were sliding before it as over. I remember a 20 ft sliding board in our local park! 20 ft tall! I imagine the slide was 25 30 ft at least.

Skipping school to play in the woods all day hunting water moccasins with machetes and swinging from vines in the trees!
Drinking water from the creek right after the rocky area's where the water was "clean".

What were our safety precautions? just hang on tight, don't fall off the mile high slide, and hope the vine doesnt break LOL

I was raised Missionary Baptist....
week long revivals, the men would go outside to smoke, and lean in the windows to hear the preacher.....
watching my grandmother "get happy" as she called it, couldnt call it shockamoo in the Baptist CHURCH!!!
going to the morning services as well as night....
remembering how happy my mom was that I got saved....
life was simpler...
life was secure...
I felt I would fullfill ALL the dreams I had....
There was nothing like playing hard all day, mom having a big wonderful supper, watching Bugs Bunny, a bath, then crawling between freshly washed and sun-dried sheets, and knowing that all was well....Jesus kept us even when we didnt know it...
