I don't miss not knowing what kind of meat we were eating from day to day (my dad was a hunter, and we were poor, so we ate alot of unusual protein. One winter they got a real deal on horse, so we ate horse all winter. Didn't even know it until we ran out and Mom finally spilled the beans!)

I don't miss having to can fruits and vegetables in the hot kitchen without air conditioning most of the summer. Washing jars - ewww. I hated that job!

I don't miss mucking out the cow stalls or the pigpens either. That was definately not another favorite job.

I don't miss the smell of Mom rendering out the lard. P.U.! But I do miss the lard!

I don't miss being grounded from going to church and youth group activities.

I don't miss our bedroom being freezing cold in the winter (no heat ducts upstairs) and sweltering hot in the summer (no air conditioning)

Never could figure that one out....kids acting like a heathen so you keep him from going to the one place where he might find a desire to change.

I have had parents do this and thought "what were you thinking???"

well, the spanking part I could have done without...but they were warranted and it meant momma cared actually. She could have just let me get away with everything. \

I can agree with the name calling and telling bad things and lies. That did not happen till the last year he was around but I certainly do not miss it.

Being picked on was not a fun thing either but being called a nerd would have been nice. I know many who will not believe this but I was very shy in school. At home and church was an altogether different thing but at school I hated to be asked a question or to be given any kind of attention. I tried to be invisible in school. Kids are mean by nature and they pick up on that stuff and just do not stop. Like a pack of wild dogs on a prey.

I wish I had gotten free meals. I could have cared less if it made me poor, we were already poor but because my mom owned the house we lived in they decided that they $87 a week she made was enough for us to live on. YEAH RIGHT.

I did like Knight Rider, sorry. =)

I do not miss being molested. Nor the mental turmoil that went with it.
