It is now bearing Fruit!
I posted a thread a couple of weeks ago about what God is doing in our local church. We started a group for people in recovery, the expectation was that a few would show up. Well 70 showed up the first week, 68 the second week.
The group is on Friday night. Our desire is to use the meeting as a net to harvest souls to win, disciple and have them become members of our church.
After 2 weeks we are seeing fruit. Last night 2 ladies that heard about the group, know the leader were at church seeking God, one told me that she wants the Holy Spirit. Very, very hungry people.
In the AM service, we had a large prayer line where I laid hands on every person, it took about 30 minutes to do it. But it was worth it, one lady came through, in her late 20's, 2 sons.
She stated as we prayed she said that she needs a place to live. I started praying for her, and words came to me of the effect that "you need to go make things right with your Aunt that you have conflict with" I had no idea what that meant, but she started crying and weeping.
Before she had got to where I was she was praying that God would forgive her for here conflictual relationship with her aunt, we has caused her to not have a place to live.
This was a definte word from God to go back and make things right and it would provide for her. She was in shock that God would speak to her.
Anyway praise God, good things are happening in our church!

Awesome!!! I love good reports! I pray that things continue and that there is so much fruit that you need more "baskets!"

I've said it before and I'll say it again - This is the New Testament church and how it operates!!!! People want to know a God that is very personal about their lives and their needs - and He is!!!!!

Anyone have any ideas of new believers/discipleship methods that are currently effective?

Keith,
I have enough confidence that you will pray and God will put whatever He wants you to have in your hands. I know you won't misunderstand what I am saying.
We, especially, at this time need to get all of our direction from Him. Asking only Him to put things in our hands. Him to open doors. I never ask other people for things I need. I ask Him and He always delivers. Through people - certainly, but when I ask Him and He delivers then I know I'm on the right path.
