It was cool years ago but it is now the largest 'Rodriguez' I ever seen. lol

And you were looking at his belly because.........?

i'm with jt on this one. it's not all bad. i've considered getting one too. something with my faith and something about my boys. idk. maybe someday.

my point was that they are always engaged as an outward adornment.

If you did apply a permanent ink image into your skin that depicts your last name or something for your daughter, or a cross, would you have it placed on your body in a place that would cause it to be generally viewable by the public?
Because if you WOULD....I would say you are doing it from a motive that foremost involves being seen by men. It would be a human adornment, in the form of an iconic image, for men to see something because of your desire for that to preceived about you. That just doesn't add up to God thing in my mind....its an attempt to substitute a visually-broadcasted statement for a true personal witness.

Thought so, but at times it is hard to tell on here. NO offense intended..hope non taken.
If I got something for my daughter then it would be on my right arm if she becomes a righty and left for a lefty. It would be above me elbow. My lastname would be the the back of my arm think triceps area. And the cross or religious thing would be on my other arm or my back. If someone saw it then that is on them. I personally would not get a tattoo for anyone other than me, my family and or God--whether it was in a place where you could see it or not.

idk. this doesn't make alot of sense to me. we all adorn ourselves outwardly for the benefit of other people. to say we don't is silly. that's why most of us dress differently at work than we do at home. and differently even than that when we go to the store or out to eat with friends. i don't wear a suit an tie to take my kids to the park because i don't want people to think i'm weir. i don't wear my home attire (use your imagination) to work because i want people to take me seriously. in fact, recently, i took some stickers off my laptop that my 11 yr old had put on there for that very reason. i wanted to be taken seriously by people at school. we all adorn ourselves primarily to project an appropriate image to those around us. that's not a big deal. the big deal in scripture about adorning had to do with relying on adorning as a source of self-esteem, or making it a point of pride.
again, if put something that glorifies god on a tattoo or expresses my love and devotion to my kids then there's nothing wrong with that. those are good values to have and to portray.
ur missing the point about vanity and modesty, imo.

Re: Tattoos-What do ya think?
this is a matter of personal taste and personal preference. you cannot make a case against tattoos categorically from scripture. the only way to do so would mean you'd have to then accept all of the holiness code in the ot which would then make you apostate according to the nt as you've substituted christ for another gospel and knowingly left the gospel of christ.

OMG! I read that wrong. I thought you said his stomach looked like it could have KEG on it. You are actually saying that it does?
