Perhaps you need to go back and re-read what I said. I simply stated that this forum does not do much to help me keep a right spirit. I didn't say it caused a bad one. There is a difference.

Thanks, but no thanks.

Well I'm sorry Bruh, seriously I don't know any of these people. I do miss you being here and a lot of the Cons. I agree the forum has changed but I can't do anything about it- just deal with it the best I can. It's not like FCF when all sides got along - I still can't figure out how it changed. naturally this deal would rile them up too I hate to see Sherri hurt too since I know her from here on the forum.

Re: Interesting Article from a Conservative Aposto

I am sure the following statement will elicit all kinds of nasty remarks about my being a "hit and run" poster, or some other such nonsense, but I am being honest when I say I will not have time to check back in over the next few days. I'm leaving tomorrow to preach at a Camp Meeting in Missouri. So, whatever remarks you make to me over the next few days will simply have to wait for a response.

I have to pack, so I'm getting off the forum now. I'm not avoiding anyone, nor am I ignoring anyone. I've just got work to do.

Have fun, and goodnight.

Sherri is only being hurt because some unscrupulous anonymous individual chose to publicly twist comments and then post a link to those misquoted words on this forum. If that individual had not done what he did, Sherri would NOT be hurting over this. How do you think her cousin feels? He's being accused of attacking his own family, which he did NOT do.

Good night. I've GOT to go.

I am not the "owner" of the forum. I simply serve on the Admin Team. I was out of state during the time that the particular thread in question ran its course and, as I've already stated, I do not condone character assassination. However, the author of the blog is JUST as guilty -- look at what he has done to the cousin of SG.

My point was NOT to condone gossip. It was to show that, although the anonymous author of blog feels justified in violating rules to which he agreed, there is no justification for lying. He lied. Plain and simple. He is also guilty of gossip by spreading this information, especially when taking it entirely out of context.

I realize that, to many of the members here, anytime a conservative can be made to look "vicious," the end justifies the means. I don't see it that way. Those who sought to destroy SG were wrong, and the individual who sought to destroy them -- as well as destroying other INNOCENT members of the forum -- was JUST AS WRONG.
I agree with this.

(I haven't gone back to be sure.) Nevertheless, understand that anyone who does not have the guts to put their name on a public article, nor the integrity to keep from violating rules to which he (or she) has agreed, should not be considered a trustworthy source for anything.

Let me conclude with the remarks I posted on CAF when I learned of this blog:
Wow! This is so typical of the gymnastics conservatives go through to protect their own. For all their conservatism, this smacks of humanistic situational ethics.

It's OK for "ministers of the gospel" to destroy their peers in private. But if someone, anyone, shines a light on these shenanigans *they* are in turn attacked for lack of ethics and whatever else.

The breaking of a promise to have a "closed" forum where this kind of drivel is posted, is a far lesser offense than the garbage that is going on "behind closed doors".

This reminds me of blaming the victim of a crime for the crime. In this case, blame the person who brings this inexcusable character assassination to light for being the culprit, instead of those who authored the original garbage AND those who defend them.

It's all VERY sad!
