Re: What's for Dinner Tonight?

Mom's cooking tonight!!

With fresh garden veggies coming in it's gonna be good! Squash, sweet corn, ripe tomatoes, purple hull peas..... would be enough for me, but I think there's pork chops, too! And, of course, cornbread and sweet tea. Might even get a chocolate pie!

Re: What's for Dinner Tonight?

Speaking of BBQing-when we had the family from Singapore stay with us-

We asked them if they like BBQ, and the husband laughed and said everywhere they went they BBQ'd. He thought it was funny that all Americans BBQ. I don't think it's something they do in Singapore. But it's part of our culture, and to hear it from someone outside of our culture comment on it, made the practice seem odd for some reason.

But hey, I still love it!

I like to do grilled veggies. Sometimes I've made a foil packet to cook sliced squash, zucchini, onion, and mushroom drizzled with olive oil and seasoning. And just throw it on the grill. No kitchen mess!

Re: What's for Dinner Tonight?

I am slow cooking a brisket in the oven like a roast, with potatoes, carrots, & onions. Will prob do some mac & cheese and cornbread with it. Not real healthy tonight!

Re: What's for Dinner Tonight?

Just thought I'd resurrect this old thread and see what's on everyone's stove tonight. I've got Creamy Tacos cooking and I made a homemade Coconut Meringue Pie. Those were Eddie's two requests! I try to pamper him a little on Saturday nights because Sunday is such a hectic, hard day.
