For a girl it is Ariel Nicole and for a boy (just in case) it will be Jackson Duane.

My dad's middle name was Duane. So when we adopted Keith, we changed his middle name to Duane. He was already 17 months old, so we didn't think it would be right to change his identity completely. But at that age, he didn't even know what his middle name was. So for us to change it was no big deal to him.

It was the same with my grandma...very sudden. My grandma was in the hospital Thanksgiving day (she had a severe kidney infection) and she wanted the family to go ahead and have lunch together. She called the house and I answered the phone and talked to her for a while then she asked to talk to my husband--it was very odd for her to talk to him on the phone. Clint talked to her and asked if she wanted to talk to anyone else and she said no. It being Thanksgiving and Grandma sounded very good over the phone I went ahead and went to my inlaws to visit. The rest of my family went to the hospital to visit grandma. That night my mom said Grandma was doing great and kept asking my grandpa for kisses and was overly "lovey" than normal. An hour after they left the hospital she passed from a blood clot that went to her heart.

Two weeks before she passed she was sitting with us at my husband's grandmothers funeral--she also passed VERY suddenly.

Hello everyone! I have been away for a while and I just wanted to check in and say hello. Carey - I am so glad you are doing well and getting on with the move. Goodbye services at church can be emotional, I hope you find a good church in Chicago. Chicago is a city I have never visited. My stepson and his wife went there this fall and came back with glowing reports. They could not stop talking about how clean and convenient everything was. I wish you well.
QE- I know you will be glad to have that baby in your arms! I am praying that everything goes well.
We had our church tea this weekend. It was very nice. We sold 270 tickets, and had 24 tables for ladies and 4 tables for little girls. I will post pictures as soon as I can. It is a fund raiser for Mother's Memorial. Our family Center is too small. We are hoping to have a new one next year. My next project is to get ready for a garage sale. I really do not like to do these, but the excess junk is running me out of room. So my sister, my aunt and my mother and I are putting on a garage sale. We will see. This is the first one I have done in years. Please pray for my mom, she is having cataract surgery Wednesday. I hope all goes well with her. She has multiple health problems. Just say a little prayer for her. Well got to go fix dinner. Talk with ya ll later.

BBY, I will remember your mom in prayer on Wednesday. My mom had cataracts removed from both of her eyes. For her it was an easy surgery with no complications - for which we give glory to God!!

When you do your Tea, do you do all the decorations at each table alike? What kind of theme did you use this year? We do a Christmas Tea every year with our ladies. We each sign up for a table. Our jobs are then to decorate that table, provide some sort of favor thing that the ladies at our table can take home at the end of the evening, hopefully fill the table with our friends, neighbors and relatives who are un-churched and then act as "hostess" for the table for the evening. Then we all bring little tea sandwiches and/or special cookies. We don't use this as a fund raiser. Just as an outreach. It's a very elegant, "girlie" kind of night that people look forward to every year.

Thanks for helping me pray for my mom. Her name is Margie so that should be easy to remember!!!
Each lady volunteers to do tables. Sometimes they work as a team, sometimes alone. Most of them bring their china and crystal and use it. Some of them use antique china- We had all kinds of themes. Easter, Spring, several of the ladies have Old Country Rose china and use it. It is our version of playing dress up!!!!! We had over 100 ladies come that do not attend our church. We also do a Christmas tea for the single older ladies that is not a fund raiser. The food is done by ladies who work in the kitchen. We serve tea, scones, 3 kinds of sandwiches and desserts. The ladies who decorate the tables usually provide a favor for those who sit at their tables.
We are talking about doing a Taste Fair next year for a Fund Raiser. We have done this in the past and been successful.

Our ladies did a Tea last spring for our mother/daughter banquet. It was very nice - sounds alot like what you guys have done with all the different tea settings and stuff.

What is a Taste Fair? How does that work??? Sounds like it could be something new for us to try
