Re: Richard Heard?

I remember he was a terror for soundmen because he could never hear himself in the monitors loud enough. His excuse; he supposedly lost some of his hearing from duck hunting.

I'm assuming he's also changed his method of "preaching".

I know it fit with the times. the whole world was scared. I still remember doing Atomic bomb drills at school.

there were signs in every town directing people to Atomic bomb shelters. that was everywhere in the 70's and I was just a little kid!

Israel was at war with everyone, Russia was gonig to attack us, we had just LOST vietnam, Jimmy Carter was president, we were running out of oil, interest rates were going thru the roof, even wealthy people were poor and the preachers were all saying God was coming back next tuesday.

One preacher told us to break our pencils because the Lord was coming back before we would finish with school.

Cool Re: Richard Heard?

I was raised in Bro. Charles Cooleys church in Lafayette, La. The whole time I was there we were called charismatic. We were upc. His Dad was the District Secretary. And some great preachers came out of that church. Nathan Scoggins( Texas Youth President for years) Scotty Slaydon(One of my Best friends) JCM Graduate. Missionary to El Salvador for years. Now works at Headquarters. Just to name a few.

Like they say, You daisy if you do, Daisy if you Don't.

Have a great rest of the day.

OH I remember those days, and hiding under our desks, and make us go into the hall and put our heads between our knees.
